Is there some trick to showing the MACO armor? ... I've only unlocked T2 Omega Rep so far, and went for the MACO 3 piece rather than the Omega, but it just looks like standard energy dampening armor?

Pleas tell me it's supposed to look better than that!

You did the Mk X stuff.

Have to do Mk XI to get the actual MACO armor skin, and have to do Mk XII to get the helmet and gloves.

Yup. Mk X MACO Armor has no visuals.

Mk XI: Basic visuals, plus the customizable Costume Unlock 1 once you've collected the full Mk XI set (skip it, it's not worth it).

Mk XII: Full visuals, plus the customizable Costume Unlock 2 once you've collected the full Mk XII set.

Costume Unlock 3 comes once you've completed the full Mk XII set plus the optional objectives on Infected, Cure, and Khitomer Accord ground and space missions.

Costume Unlock 4 comes from collecting all 3 Adapted M.A.C.O. pieces.
You're right. The work here is very important.

Wow ... that's a bit rough really ... You have to grind for the armor ... and then grind some more to make it visible, then grind some more again to unlock the other visuals?

What's next PWE, starships only come with one Warp Nacelle and you have to grind for the other one?

Well, welcome to "Star 'Grind' Online" I guess ...

Thanks heaps for the replies guys ...

Well, Mk XI and XII are visible right away, but you can customize them until you've gotten all 3 pieces of their respective sets, and then run the costume unlock projects. The nice thing about the costume unlocks is that you can display the costume even when you're not wearing the armor.

My advice? Skip Mk XI completely, and skip straight to Mk XII.

Well, i actually like that aspect of the Rep system. This way not EVERYBODY has that frickin MACO armor on. Even better with the Adapted MACO (Less people grinding for that). And those 2 are easy to get compared to the Elite Armor (That requires completing all STFs on Elite) ... Makes me somewhat proud to own all of em, since not everybody has access to all of those. That's what makes those Armors so valuable for me actually. (Just a bit of philosophy ;) )

Oh, I agree that you SHOULD be rewarded for 'earning' the armors and definetly for getting the higher level ones ... But it still does take a bit of work (without the bonus mark weekends) to get even the T2 X armors, so they should be at least visible if not customizable ...

And yeah well, I'm getting tired of seeing Dyson Enviro Suits everywhere as well ... I purposely got the Sentinel version, just so I had a different one, and it does look good in black!

I disagree. The need to grind so much for just a visual look its just stupid. If that is the case, just go for the Dyson rep, their customes are way cooler than the omega ones. Now, if you want the procs of the omega armor.. then, you dont have a choice lol.

I remember ages ago when i unlocked the MKXI and i didnt have the helmet available for my suprise (wth..), not only that, my caitian was hiding the tail inside the custome.. in the end , i just decided to avoid the unlock of the omega customes since it was not worthy the time, specially if i will find so many tailor bugs in the future. Its non sense.

Now, since i only wanted the omega / maco custome to look cooler xD, i just avoided it and went to the dyson one, since its far better. Besides i never completed all the stfs, since i really hate ground fights (if cryptic one day fixes ground fights maybe i will start doing em), another special requisite that i see stupid (but a lot of things in STO are, sadly).
