Lol, even with that bonus, the battlezone is 100% more worth it than flying around the sphere. It's like trying to get me to do a ground STF which is "no thanks, the payout/time ratio is horrible.
Whose idea was this? First you create this mindless zerg gameplay, then you try to force us into certain content by skewing the rewards. Now you want to tell us what day and time to play? Knock it off!
Put the Marks event back on the calendar! Some of us prefer not to spend our weekend grinding which is why you put the calendar in in the first place! Let us get stuff on OUR schedule, not yours. The weekend bonus doesn't impress me as I grind as little as possible on as few toons as possible anyway.
Also Nukara and Romulan are the worst reputations because the events are sooooooooooo stingy with Mark rewards. Now you're nerfing their bonus marks times which will kill them outright. I certainly won't grind them on any more toons now (I am done grinding them on my mains thankfully). Not to mention Fleet Marks, dear God you're nerfing small fleets again.
Are you guys really that upset people finished Dyson so quickly?
Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it! No, seriously! ...Why are you laughing so hard?
Lotta justified negativity here. Who exactly was clamoring for the removal of the calendar system? You strip us of our proper bonus marks and then say "It's ok, you get bonus Dyson marks on the weekend." I don't want Dyson marks, I'm already t5 and have the few pieces of gear that are worth my time. My fleetmates don't want Dyson marks, they're t5 too. My friends don't want Dyson marks for the same reason. This content has zero value to those of us who finished the Dyson slog already. You're also trying to incentivize the players still repping to go back to content you already killed through nerfs.
How about this? Bonus event: this weekend, all content that awards reputation marks can optionally have that reward substituted for fleet marks of the same number. You want your endgame players to flock to an event? There you go, and nobody even had to pay me for that idea. It's all yours.

Yup, I have no need of Dyson Marks (Or any other reputation marks) except maybe to turn them into Dilithium. I severely need fleet marks and once they remove the calendar, I'll be forced to try and get some for 4 hours in the afternoon Fridays and 4 hours in the morning Mondays on special weekends decided by the dev gods because they arbitrarily decided to remove the calendar instead of revamp it (yes, there was junk in there that needed a change) and limit it to exactly the days I CAN'T PLAY!
I don't want a mission that will probably be limited to a single run a day, that sucks. If you're getting rid of the calendar, then replace it with daily unlocks for what used to be in the calendar.
Daily:
1) Earn bonus fleet marks for 3 hours (you get a buff for 3 hours like you do during weekend experience bonus events)
2) Earn extra dilithium from mining (you get a one hour buff)
and where are you picking them up at those numbers? ... Crystalline is the only one I know of that can do that and it has a cooldown. Always looking for other FM sources worth something.
And I agree with you on the Romulan marks.
If you do certain Defara ground missions, you can get 250-300 fleet marks (in an hour or less) just running some of the easy, and normal missions. I haven't done it during the bonus marks event, so I don't know how many you can get then.
If you don't have the M.A.C.O gear from any of the Taskforce Omega rep system, the J'Hem ground set, remodulator, pulsewave assault, and a good melee weapon (not the nano type from winter event) will do. Also, engineers with turrets, and mines are a plus.
I was rolling in up to 300 fleet marks with a friend, and never had to do the elite. You just need to pick the missions you do. Some are nothing more than a waste of time.
As far as the Romulan marks, they are the hardest to get. I just do the Taw Dewa sector patrol, and then scan for radiation scans on New Romulus. Doing the scans, I can get 300 radiation scans in 15mins, and that equals 30 marks. But, that is the fastest I have been able to get them.
I find that as long as you don't have AFKers in the Dyson ground event, and a halfway decent group, it is so easy to get Dyson marks. Without any bonus event, you can get more than 300 Dyson marks in an hour or less. Last night, I get almost 500 marks, and only ran for 45 mins.
Even Nukara marks are easy to get on Defara Prime.
It's just the Romulan marks that are so hard to get. Those need a LOT of focus. Hopefully, they will do something to make up for the other marks people need more, and that are harder to get.

Where the F#&#$ are you people coming up with the idea that Romulan Marks are hard to get????
They are by far the easiest snooze button marks to obtain...log in...ask for fed/kdf lfg for epohh tagging...wait 5 minutes...get snagged up....spend another 5 minutes talking to said npc...tagging said epohhs, talking to said npc again, and starting up a doff mission....3-4 days later once you've started the cycle up...you churning out 400 marks about twice a week for....gasp 10 minutes or so of time.....

Yeah, I used to think that about Rom Marks, but earlier today I went there on my latest new toon and...the place was a ghost town. We ran all the way to the camp and there was not a WORD on Zone.
If I hadn't brought my own group, it would have been impossible to get one. At least there wasn't anyone in the way.
Easy missions you get 1 bonus mark so instead of 13 you get 14.
Medium Missions you get 2 bonus marks so instead of 35 you get 37.
Hard missions you get 5 bonus marks so instead of 60 you get 65.
The reward is not that impressive but it adds up.
In the 3 hour event I usually make 3 runs plus the Hard missions. I don't run all of the Mediums and Easy though because there are 3 Mediums and 1 Easy mission I absolutely hate.
Thanks for the info on the effect of the Bonus Marks event. The only reason I don't run the hard missions on Defera that much is because I mostly either go by myself, or with only one other, but you need 3 for the hard ones. Though most of the hard ones can be knocked out with 2 people, instead of 3.

Going by Cryptic's weird TRIBBLE math: 100%=50% and 50%=25%.
Example: something that says you get a 100% reduction to transwarp cooldown doesn't make your transwarp recharge instantly, it cuts it in half (from 14 minutes to 7 minutes). I can't recall what would reduce transwarp by 100% but I'm sure I've seen it somewhere. A warp core perhaps?
So basically going by Cryptic's weird math, this bonus event isn't going to give us much, unless Crtypic finally realized that 100%=100%.
100% faster cooldown reduction doesn't mean 100% reduction of cooldown time--it means that the cooling down happens at a 100% increased rate (i.e. 200% speed = twice as fast).
Finished my Dyson Rep before Christmas, have no intention to ever do it for my other alts. I hope never to see the Dyson sphere or The Breach ever again. Guess I will not be playing STO this weekend then, love to know who came up with these stupid ideas.

Gratz on finishing the rep! But, I'm confused -- this is an optional bonus event and shouldn't affect your gameplay in anyway, so I'm not sure why this event alone would stop you from playing You don't have to go to the Sphere, but if you do, you'll get bonus marks (which can also be turned in for Dilithium via the rep if you're at T5 and not interested in the other gear/ items).
Note: The hourly calendar changes are not occurring until Season 8.5's launch later this year.

It's what the grind does to us Brandon. Eventually we start frothing at the mouth and convulsing :P

Forums seem like a deeply negative place where EVERYTHING seems to be bad. No matter what it is.
My main concern and questions are about this is how badly the ground vs space zone is balanced towards each other. Even during this event I would doubt that the time spent in the space zone vs the ground zone would balance out. Your going to always be better off doing the ground battle zone.
The space zone was a wonderful idea and I am glad you guys are trying new things but it's clearly not as popular as the ground zone. Which to be honest is amazing with how much more popular space stuff is in general. Hopefully with the next attempt at a space zone such as this it will go better.
So why not bring back Elachi Alert for this??? Shouldn't of been removed in my opinion in the first place.
THIS!
Elachi Alert needs to be brought back ASAP at the very least in the exact same form it was when it was removed. More mark options added would be nice, but it should be a choice between Romulan marks and Fleet marks for sure and in the SAME amounts as before not less.

Does anybody know why it was actually removed? I definitely support bringing it back in some form or another.

Bonus events means less people playing other PVE events. When the Winter event first started the numbers playing Mirror event dropped to over half , same thing happen to STF's. This does effect gameplay, plain and simple.

What he actually means is that we like out little bonus marks hour, it doesn't seem much but we still like our little bonus marks hour never the less.
In other words, main reason why ppl aren't playing certain content, is only because that content is [strike]boring ****e[/strike] not exciting and not rewarding enuff. And one possible way of solving that is to make the content more exciting and more rewarding, not make the other content less exciting and less rewarding.
Having said all that, this is mmo and all content is played repeatedly, so excitement factor kinda goes to null after a while.
*chuckles* Well, looks like I will be getting some easy dil over the next few days. I decided, now that the winter event is over, to start knocking out reps on all the toons I give a TRIBBLE about, beginning with Dyson rep since that is the easiest to level.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

1. NWS farming. Form a team, beat the first 9 waves, leave. Rinse and repeat. You get lots of marks from doing this and avoid the cd.
2. Duty officers. If you do plenty of duty officer missions you will be able to get a sizable amount of fleet marks.
