Weapon skin revamp

Who out there thinks items like the dark phasers, and summoned turrets should be altered, like having a circular or rectangular dish, rather than a barrel?

    Personally I think fed, kdf, and rr should all have different weapon turrets deploy visually.
    Right now it is the same turret regardless of it being a phaser, disruptor, or plasma beam.

    Of course just to have more fun I think there needs to be another field turret. This one puts out a red grid and enemies entering it take damage as long as they are in the field or destroy the turret.

    They also need to give Romulan Engies unique drone models. My Fed allied Romulan summons Exocomps.

    Oh, I thought this thread was about the weapons our characters equip.

    I was going to say that I wanted the option to use the Type-3 rifle from TNG, the Compression rifle from Voyager, or the various rifles from First Contact.

    I think the plasma guns should also be tweaked, especially the higher level ones with the barrels that look like a rush job. Oh, and maybe change the names from (blank) blast assault to Type-VII anti-armor (blank).

    I'd love to be able to select a weapon skin in the tailor, same for kit skins. (For weapons and kits that I have equipped.) I would rather have a lower level Plasma rifle skin than a higher level one. Same for phaser rifles and kits.

    Given the great job i think they did with fleet weapon visuals, I'd love for the team to make a second pass and improve the rest of the weapons ( the alien weapons , well some of them look like brightly coloured water pistols) and deployables could be improved also

    And it would be a great oppertunity to add some of the more Canon weapons into the game maybe ? Please?

    It seems very obvious to me that the quality of the design has improved a lot over time, leaving the older textures and models to suffer by comparison, Much like the early story missions in the game being dated ( glad those have gotten some attention lately )

    I couldn't agree more. Newer ground weapons such as the elite fleet weapons, the Legacy of Romulus plasma weapons, the Elachi disruptor, and Voth anti-proton weapons kind of make the original ground weapons look cartoonish and exaggerated by comparison.

    While I think that the dream would be a separate ground weapon tailor, I understand that would require a massive dev investment. Personally, I'd rather see that kind of effort put into improving the character tailor.

    Instead, I'll give a massive and wholehearted +1 to improving the look of all ground weapons, but particularly the original batch. In particular, I find that the polaron, plasma, and anti-proton tend to look very out of place.
