    Could it be that most of the files are invisible, I dont have much experience with Macs, but it seems your options are a bit strange. On Windows I would say go and try with an Administration account, as it gives you pretty much every control, but dunno if Mac has something similar.

    mine ends at ..../common/star trek online

    the ~ symbol basically unhides and shows all files on a mac

    so ~/library shows all files and folders. (in a nut shell)

    so i'm stumped. it seems i'm not the only one either. If anyone has a mac and runs a parser successfully (without wine) please chime in?

    ok, so i've made progress...

    by right clicking on /common/Star Trek Online there is an option for "Show Package Contents" basically this is OSXs way of bundling all related items to that application. i can then navigate all the way to the /Applications/Star Trek Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/StarTrekOnline/Star Trek Online/Live/logs/GameClient/CombatLog.log

    so good news, i found it. bad news, the parser doesn't allow me to "show package contents" when i click on "brows directory" to try and navigate to it.

    I've made an alias (shortcut) and dragged it to /common/Star Trek Online but it doesn't work.
    I copied the entire folder "/Contents" and pasted it into /common Star Trek Online so it was visible without having to "show package contents" and was able to navigate the directory within the parser to the CombatLog.log file. the parser worked fine and gave me all the information from that STF.

    As a test, i ran another STF, however, as i suspected because it was a copy, and not a shortcut...it didn't work. i would have essentially had to copy the entire contents folder and paste it (takes about 20 min) to run the parser each time.

    the only other thing i am going to try is to create folders at the /common/Star Trek Online to try and trick the parser into thinking that its actually navigating to the ..../GameClient/Combatlog.log. However, CombatLog.log will be a shortcut to the original. i'll post an update on if that works or not.

    ***Update***
    so i made the dummy folders leading to the .../GameClient/Combatlog.log . the alias (shortcut) did not read in the parser. however, i did manage a work-around and it works. it just takes some prep, and a few extra steps.

    1. keep open in Finder, the original CombatLog.log by the "show packaged content"
    2. Open another window of Finder (File, New Window in Finder) and navigate to the dummy folder .../logs/GameClient/Combatlog.log
    3. Open the parser and direct it to the dummy folder.../logs/GameClient/CombatLog.log
    4. When you want to get the results from the STF, just copy the original, then paste into the dummy folder within the other opened Finder window.
    5. Run the Parser, and it should work.

    a week of figuring this out and i finally got it. its not as smooth as it should be, but it still does work. I hope this helps all the other Mac Users who are wanting to monitor their DPS.

    Well for example STF ITC E I got hit from 15Km with invisible **** and killed. From 100% hull 1 hit and go 40% when you pull up quick from range on to 15-20Km from cube normally repair etc something invisible hit you again and boom the end. Sometimes ships blowup just from 1 hit.
    With Undine 1 or 2 torps are enough to blowup ship. I call that inconsistent damage don't have other explanation . I can't say that my ChelGretts are something (15-24K DPS) solid configuration build, but i never succeed to make such a damage to NPCs from 5-10Km.

    So my thinking is if NPCs can make super damage , it got to be something that we can do to protect our self or better, may be we can do that kind of damage to NPCs.

    One q. more did any 1 tested (Undine Fluidic Counter Assault) space set ?
    I try with (Counter Command Ordnance) Turret+UConsole+TacConsole without torp didn't see any crucial DPS improvement in PvE still testing.

    When I am attempting to upload a run of ISE, I am told that I need to update the parser. When I try to update the parser to the newest version I recieve this error message: "Kann Datei nicht loschen. Bitte beenden Sie das Programm!"

    I close the program and when I try to run the .exe file it just keeps repeating the error message cycle. Any ideas on what I need to do to make this program up to date on my system and accurate for DPS league purposes. Thanks for the help!

    Chk your Java if you run Win-blows x64 you should install x86 Java all so.
    Possible reason can be Stack Overflow with Java StAX XML it's common problem on Java 7 SE.
    Try to clean all caches & temps , reinstall Java SE 7 x86x64 latest version or install version 8.

    I tried each of the suggestions you made but I am still getting the same result. I now have only the Java 8 x86 build 1.8.0_05-b13

    I am seeing all of the exact same results though.

    Well may be you cant upload cause the combatlog is still active,try this turn off ' /combatlog 0 " then try to upload.
    Did you have problems with upload sto logs before ?

    I have never uploaded one before. I haven't been able to update it from the version that the link that is in the OP. I tried to find a newer link with no success.

    If not working turnoff your firewalls , or antivirus in some paranoid mode , User Account Control put on Never notify.

    My config is: Win 7 x64 ,Free AVG, Firewalls off, Win Defender off , UAC is off .
    I don't have any problem with combatlog parser , but as IT engineer I am not expert for Windows my major is Linux & Cloud-networking , so I try to help you much as I can .
    Give more info about your machine its got to be something stupid that no1 can think about
    its Micro**** (I use win only for games).

    Using the link in the OP I downloaded CombatLog Reader v. 1.2.0.0. As soon as I ran it a window popped up saying there was an update. I downloaded and applied the update which pushed the version to 1.2.0.7. Then I played around with it for a while and everything seemed OK. But the next day I tried to run the program again and it wouldn't start. So I deleted all the files, re-downloaded v. 1.2.0.0, allowed it to be updated to v. 1.2.0.7 and again it worked fine... until I closed it and again it wouldn't start. Today I've discovered that what's causing the problem is setting the "Minutes between Combats" to 0.5. If I delete the "Settings.mrj" file the program will re-start and continue to re-start as long as I don't change the "Minutes between Combats" setting to 0.5.

    Not a game buster but I thought I'd let you know.

    Hi, can anyone point me in the direction of where I can learn how to improve my DPS please?
    I've been playing a long time now and I am truly sick of the same old 4 or 5K DPS results in STFs. I know you guys with your magic DPS builds probably think I suck, but that's why I want to learn. Any help would be appreciated. :confused:

    Dont worry, here are the basics:

    -Use only one Energytype (Plasma, AP, Disruptor etc)
    -Use only one type of weapon, e.g. only beams or only Dual heavy cannons. (there are some specials, like kinetic cutting beam, or dyson experimental weapon with the console for two-piece bonus, which are also nice for most builds)
    -Use only tactical consoles in tactical console slots, and only those for your Energytype (and no universal consoles like +beam or +cannons). Of course, locators from fleet spires are the best, if you cant effort them mk xi blue ones are good enough, important is only that its the ones for your energytype.

    -BO-Layout depends on the ship, though Attack pattern Beta, Tactical team and emergency power to weapons are must haves. I would also implement Ept shields, as it makes you sturdier. Depending on the ship you use 3 Damage control engineers to reduce CD of names Emergency Power to X- skills, or you use A2B (Auxiliary power to batteries) with 3 Technicians as Doffs.
    Depending if non-a2b or not, the tactical Skills (TT,APB, and one for cannons/beams) must be redundand (non-a2b) or not (a2b).

    Weapon power should be high, and if you use a Fleetwarpcore with AMP-Modifier, all power levels should be above 75.
    A must-have are assimilated module and plasmonic leech (thoug 10k are possible without plasmonic).

    If you give use your current build via skillplanner, we can upgrade it (pls give us a estimate of your "financial" ingame-situation).
    As for the skilltree it should look like this: http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=taktikergrundskillung_4677 there are still possibilities for individualisation, though the basic layout is the same for all classes (engineers should spec 3 in batteries, thats the only change in basic layout).

    all things mentioned above are implemented, including AP Beta-uptime of 100%, EptW, plasmonic leech and assimilated module. Weapons are homogeneous and tactical consoles are only for that type (as mentioned, if you cant buy them, go with mk xi blue consoles). Tachyokinetic, Valdore-console are nice to have, but not must have, you can slot pretty much anything there.
    The most important thing is homogeneous built ( no diversity^^) of weapons and BO-Layout. Gear in sto is only a add-on, and not the main-driver of dps.
    its pretty much like this, once you learn the basics, even your fresh lv. 50 will be able to top 10k, so dont look to much on how high-level the gear his, but rather, how it works together.

    Okay, at the moment on my main toon 'Sean' I am running an attempt at A2B build.

    In terms of my resources, I am quite limited as I am free to play. However I am well capable of grinding plenty of dilithium and as for omega marks, I have about 10,000 just lying around at the moment. Fortunately I am able to grind loads of dili thanks to my awesome fleet Omega Combat Division :D

    I realise that I don't have a great build in terms of consoles mainly, but as I have said, my resources are limited, but I could (slowly) build an arsenal of fleet equipment. I just feel though, that even without "the best" equipment, I should be able to achieve far more than 4,000 DPS, although perhaps I am mistaken.

    I see an Odyssey. No a2b then, its gimps that ship ;)
    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=x00012_0 use 3 damage control engineers (blue or better). Also, use only spacetraits in space.

    You can upgrade those flowcaps with embassy ones. Plasmonic leech is must-have. Best would be to even use 3 flowcaps and move assimilated module to engineering consoles. 2 neutronium is absolute maximum, 1 should be enough. As for the other engineering consoles, slot a universal console from lobi-store or zero-point-module from romrep for more crth/D.

    And if you have it use the tactical variant of the Odyssey. Its as tanky as the operation one but does more damage.
    The skilltree was a bit messed up as you used 66k on ground which wasnt visible, but it looks ok, though on ground you should skill demolitions.

    After I update to 1.2.0.7 the program will no longer load, has anyone else had this issue? if so how did you fix, I can run it on patch 1.2.0.0 all day long, but can't upload logs to the server on that version.

    Fixed it I uninstalled Java 7-65 and reinstalled, now it is working.

    I was on 10k channel twice, for some reason I got kicked out, why? beats me. I've never been an a..h.le or anything of the kind, never when in missions with any of my low dps toons. So since you can get kicked out just like that for basically no reason I don't want anything to do anymore with those channel anymore, I don't have any problem getting team from my fleet or other puplic channels.

    I was on 10k channel twice, for some reason I got kicked out, why? beats me. I've never been an a..h.le or anything of the kind, never when in missions with any of my low dps toons. So since you can get kicked out just like that for basically no reason I don't want anything to do anymore with those channel anymore, I don't have any problem getting team from my fleet or other puplic channels.

    Where you perhaps double posting LFMs in PESTF and 10k? If you do that without giving the guys in 10k a heads up then you will be kicked.

    To be more exact: If you participate in 10k runs and perfom regurly far beneath it or advertise a run with one or more players, which perform beneath it, without telling anyone ("lfXm ISE (x non-10k players on board" or similar) then you can get kicked, as 10k means 10k.
    If that happens once or twice and/or on margin scale (like 9.x k with a group), its not like you get immediatly kicked, but if it happens more often and/or not on a marginal scale (<7k), then it is a cause to kick.

    Its pretty simple why: You dont get into 10k-run to run with pug/PEST-level ppl ;)

    I almost never do privates saves for fleet private. I get in games for whatever suits me and usually first I see I get in. And also, I did't get in 10k privates if I was on a toon that didn't do that much. But to tell you the truth I don't really care, I know I can do it, I know I can do a lot more, but I find lower dps teams to be more challenging and enjoyable in the long run. Specially when you get all the agro, a lot more challenging than having everything disappear in seconds.

    All that to say, I know a lot of nice guys in 10k or more channels but the way I got kicked without even a private message, twice. Sorry but no thanks.

    Lol, wow, what an elitist group of people. I can probably blow up most PvE DPS builds in PvP with my lowly 2k DPS ship.

    ...Cmon lucho. your smarter then that. Pve dps is meant for pve...doesn't need to hold any ground in pvp...because it's designed for pve content

    And it has nothing to do with elitism, when the goods shall hold the promise of the package.
    I mean, its like you organize a pvp match and some of you team come with non-pvp builds ;)
