Scimatar: Tips on pushing it over the Top

So I have a Tac Rom with a Tac Scimatar. I run all Romulan plasma. 2 DBB, 1 BA, Exp Rom BA, Rom Torp. 3 BA in the back. All (acc2) Mod weapons. 5 XII VR plasma Tac consoles. Nukara console, Zero point, Leech, Borg console, XII Fleet Neutronium (pwr transfer). Fleet XII Hyper-charge core with Amp and E>W (could use some advice on perhaps a better core)
So its a Attack pattern beta 2, BFAW Aux2batt setup. I have the elite scorp fighters and for Boffs I have 2 Superior crit officers and 2 Superior Plasma damage officers. and Dvex (whatever that Eng you get from the story mission).

I have not gone 9 levels in the skill tree on weapon training, only 6 so that allowed me to have a spec high in flow cap and particle gen and Acc and internal damp. but all the weapon skills have 6 levels. needless to say my weapon power level never drops..ever. So I am always as it seems at 125 power. But I keep the Aux high enough to always get the AMP bonus from the Core.

Now I do really well in PVE but I see these Scims in STF's that are just stupid strong, Killing Transformers and cubes before the Gens are gone, Or taking out one whole side in Kithomer space while the other 4 players are still working on the 1st transformer and cube.

Do I need to add the Tychokenitic converter and go all Superior Operitive Crit Boffs to get that extra bump?
My doffs are 3 Purple Techs, Marion and the attack pattern cooldown doff.

Do I need Fleet Plasma Weps with all CritD or CrtD3 weapons off of the exchange?
I wish one of these uber PVE STF gods would share wisdom.

2 techs, 1 marion, 1 borg warfare specialist, 1 warp core doff.
Once you get the +1 space doff. Replace the war core and add a maintenance and quartermaster battery doff.

The whole deal is about beams and positioning, be within 5km and watch those massive dps numbers roll in

Also, use 5 sro boffs. And get the elite rom drone...it is actually better then scorps
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

A weapon that isn't firing does no damage.
When your beam arrays hit a target, your torpedos and DBBs aren't hitting anything.

Using torpedos effectively means using tac consoles and skill points to boost torpedo damage.
Using energy weapons effectively means using tac consoles and skill points to boost energy damage.
Splitting tac consoles and skill points to boost both means neither are effective.

Go all out offense, use valdore console and maybe 1 hull heal with 2 piece borg set for passive hull fixins

    Profit

I, personally, tend to find a 2-piece adapted maco more beneficial than the Borg. Though in saying that, i do have 2x HE1 and A2SIF2 for hull heals.

The +1 mentioned is in reference to the fleet spire that can grant an additional doff slot making for 6 able to be on duty as opposed to the current 5. Also DBB's are great for forward attacks, but having Ba's in the rear they won't be shooting anything while you are facing directly ahead. Either all BA's and broadside it, or for heavy forward attacking replace 2 of the 3 rear BA's min (preferably all 3) with turrets or 2 turrets with the borg kcb. Remember weapons that lay dormant are not killing things!

You can make dual beam banks work on a Scim running a Fire at will build. (Fire at will doesn't care what arc your beams have, it hits everything with all your beams no matter where they are) I run four plasma beam banks and a rom torpedo in the front, a borg turret and one experimental beam/fleet beam array in the bank. Having the borg turret means the only weapons not firing all the time are the two aft beams and even that is only in the brief spawn of time between two fire at will cooldowns being used back to back. Keeping the rom torpedo can be beneficial because it, with the experimental beam array, props up the damage of all your plasma beams even further, which is the proc OP is running with.

1.) I never said you couldn't make DBBs work on a Scim. I get 20k DPS using a non-A2B DBB scim with a sci captain myself.(before the recent string of FAW bugs anyways)

2.) FAW doesn't turn a 250 degree weapon into 360 degrees. If an aft beam array is hitting something then there is a target in its arc. But the target will never be the same target that a DBB, torpedo, or DC can hit.

3.) You don't need a romulan torp to get the 2-piece romulan bonus.

4.) The 3-piece bonus isn't worth emptying out a weapon slot for a romulan torp.

I run dominion beam arrays on my tac scim. It works great and does spectacular sheild eating. And with consoles to boost the polaron weapons its Bad on the battlefield. I can run through most enemies in a hurry. And a definate on using the romulan drone ship for the hangar slot.

While this build shines in PvE, it is a death sentence in PvP. I tried it a few times in Kar'rat and while you may be able to take out a person in 1v1, another will have time to take you out with zero problem... that is if you don't quickly re-cloak. Nevertheless, this is a great build for PvE Dilithium farming, very fast and very quick. PvP... epic fail.

running 5 dual beam banks, elite fleet disruptors on back.... Beta3, Faw3, rapid1, tacteam1, aux2batt setup

20k dps from a distance! i can stay 5-8km away from tac cube and throw big numbers while staying alive.

soon to try 3 dual beam banks and the experimental proton set
