Marketing: Hey - lets use the loading splash screen for to advertise our next expansion.

Operations: That's a great Idea!

UX Developer: You realize that most people will only see it for a few seconds, making it virtually unreadable...

UI Tester: That will cause nausea...

Executive in Charge of Strange Concepts: Excellent! Cram it full of information people can't read!

Legal: Have you got room for the new TOC?

    Indeed. Using the splash screens to spam upcoming features is just another sign of the total LACK of competence in the decision making side of Cryptic.

    Not to worry, with the long load times currently being experienced by many players it's akin to the music played while on 'hold'. Although it seems like elevator music now, wait until they get more adds in the rotation...

    Besides, all the players that can't see the adds are probably already buying their way to success on STO and need no further encouragement to spend money.
