ARC Problems

My Arc is buggy.

I've reinstalled it, restarted it, restarted my computer - none of that works.

I turned it on, to play STO, and when it opens, its an entirely black box with two typing fields in the upper center. Not like its supposed to be. No graphics - just black. So I typed my info, and it logged me in. Then I tried to install STO. It shows the screen with available disk space(213190 Mb), and required disk space(5309 mb). And where it says Change Download Location. It's set for C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\, which is where I want it. But the top and bottom centimeter or so(the bottom is where I seem to remember the "continue" button, or some word to that effect, was placed) are lacking grapics - just black, like the opening screen. So I cannot continue the installation.

From there, if I try to open Arc again, right away that screen pops up, and I can't close it to click install on STO or any other game again.

Please help.

Yea. I just finished downloading Steam, and I'm downloading STO from there. There's a million more games on here anyways.

I tried steam ealier and it wouldn't work either, unlike arc steam at least downloaded game software arc isn't downloading anything to me except the arc app! Cryptic your TRIBBLE sucks, and if i didn't have to restore my freakin computer from some lame virus the old game software i had before worked. Using this arc or steam TRIBBLE doesn't and don't even provide me with game software. Thank god someone still had the old launcher app available to download, I can wait for the full 12gb worth of data to download as opposed to worthless middleman apps that didn't even allow me to play.

I tried to reinstall "Star Trek: Online" today, and it stalled during the installation process. I ended up uninstalling whatever was left on my hard drive. It stinks.

Since I upgraded my system to Windows 8.1, I had to reinstall all of my software. I was hoping to get back into game. grrr...

    I am using Arc.

Hey guys, I am trying to install Star Trek online on my computer through Arc but it doesn't seem to be working. I have an old laptop. I am using a macbook but I installed a windows XP into my harddrive and I am running it on the windows. My computer says there isn't enough space to install star trek on my windows (on my mac) but there is enough space on my mac harddrive. So I am trying to install the game on my mac harddrive but run it on my windows. I don't know why its not working? Can anybody help? I hope this makes sense.

There is an official mac version coming out, there is a post about it from Branflakes.

To anyone that wants to reinstall their OS, just make a backup of your old (pre-arc) STO folder. Install the new OS and simply put the backed up folder where you want, put a shortcut to the .exe on your desktop, click it and it will work fine (I've done this 3 times with zero problems).

Have not been able to play, my internet provider changed my router to a 2 in 1,now Arc will not run keeps timing out and indicates I need to check my internet connection. Spybot is set to allow it as is security essentials. I have even tried to create a separate account to just get online to my chars so I'm not kicked from my fleets, but it just keeps timing out? Wtf? Been a month now, very pissed off

    1.) Install Arc
    2.) Download game
3.) Create shortcut to game launcher ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Perfect World Entertainment\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online.exe")
4.) Play and update game without Arc

Arc is only needed for the initial download of the game. It is NOT needed to play or update it.

Sound like a recent bug originating from PWE/Cryptic. I have STO via Steam, and it works just fine. But, I redownloaded the game months ago.
