Will this hit the old rep sooner rather than later? I have a lot of toons at various reps that I need to catch up, toons that I grinded the other two systems through and don't feel like going back to and spending another month and a half to grind Nukara through.

See, for me, the only thing that holds me back from grinding reputation on all my characters is that I find the shopping for commodities and gathering an extra million or so Expertise dull, while I'm quite willing to waste time repeating the same few combat missions (and occasionally non-combat missions) dozens of times over my half-dozen characters. Cut it down to the simple single-input version currently used for Event rep and teased in the Twitter pic? I'd jump at it.

...how would Rep Hybrid AP Weapons work, since AP's basically just a CrtD mod?
Just about color/damage type for folks?
Though, a likely 3pc set like the rest we've seen: +7.6% AP Damage, Console, Energy Weapon, Projectile Weapon (that's not buffed by the set but is required for the 3pc bonus).
missions are not time gated and this looks like a very simple but awesome new style of rep system.
We'll see. If it's just simplification by removing the clutter - fine, great change. However if it requires a daily mission to complete the daily project I'd consider that a huge step in the wrong direction. The current system might have its flaws, but at least it lets you decide when to earn the required marks.

This actually rather excites me. No more large credit dumps into a reputation system doing a daily mission does not sound that bad honestly if it is something like complete 1 of the 3 following "dailies" to earn the commendation that would be nice.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
Its all going to depend on the mission. If they are challenging missions, and we have variety, then I applaud this change. If is all the same 4 easy and repetitive missions, then..
so i defend the spire, get a token, and start the 20 hour project? im not flushing a bunch of EC down the toilet or scavenging marks? i think i can deal with that

It may not be a hybrid, but rather more like the Elachi Disruptors or the Chroniton DBB: an entirely different proc that uses the same "damage type" as all the other guns.
And maybe deals Proton damage in addition, so that the Subspace Field Modulator's drawback actually does something...
Fantastic. Still timegated, I'm sure, but I'm a patient player so I can deal with that. And if there's a cool costume unlock waiting at the end, so much the better.
I guess the obvious question now is what equipment requisition projects will cost. I'm guessing either a bunch of tokens, or a bunch of dil, or both.
Dont know about the 1 input thing. With marks say omega and nukara you can do elite events and earn all marks needed for a day by doing just one event. Hope we get two of those commendations in elite missions cause otherwise it takes two to fill the two projects and i dont like that one.
Eh. I'll reserve judgement until I see the who system. This just addresses complicity of the projects inputs. But will the new system disallow stocking up on "marks" or whatever the currency is? How does gear and Reputation store unlocks figure in on this?
Do they address the issue of pointless gear which is a big sticking point for me? Take Omega Fleet Rep. You spent an extra ordinary amount of time to get the Mk 12 gear which is designed to fight Borg. But after getting Tier 5 Omega Rep there is very little point in fighting Borg again. Or I go the other route of getting lower Mk Rep gear, say Mk X, to actually be of some use in fighting the Borg while working on Omega Rep. But why bother getting the Mk XII gear. It's only marginally better then the Mk X gear. And I've spent a lot of resources to get the Mk X gear. And I've got to spent 50% more to get the Mk XII gear. I can't send the Mk X gear to another character. It's really of not much use except on another ship. I can only vendor it for a small amount of EC (as compared to the true cost).
Yes it will be time-gated, 20hr cool down probably, no more ec or hypos, this is what we will get in exchange for it being less resource heavy. Geko did say if this new rep is successful, the old rep's will be retrofited to be like this, oh an if this rep is based on " re-purposed " voth tech, then it should have antiproton weapons that have another energy type combined with them ( the voth use antiproton-plasma weapons ).
