Gateway app my fear.

So I defiantly think that the gateway should be packaged within an app but my worry is android.
I have an android tablet and an apple iPhone and I love them both dearly especially as I have the best of both worlds. But I myself have been subject to one of my android apps being TRIBBLE and continue to hear many stories of other people being a casualty of android apps being TRIBBLE.

By my apple phone continues to stay strong no matter what I download on the device. Which brings me to my biggest fear of gateway becoming an android app. I love sto with a passion and like most I spend a lot of time, money and effort playing it.
And I wouldn't want to my account to be TRIBBLE via gateway on an android app. The worst part is that it may not be the gateway app that gets TRIBBLE directly but through another app I happen to download.

So my hope is that if cryptic is thinking about an app please make it for apple. I'm more than happy to pay the silly amount apple want for an iPad because its nothing compared to what I have spent and will continue to spend in game.

Lets stay safe out there.

In general the Android apps are secure enough.

Trusted Apps are the way, though it wouldn't hurt to use a AV, which there are tons of.

I download and use even very suspecious programs. My AV have taken care of all the infected programs and I have never been TRIBBLE in any way. The paid AV are the best. They offer the last bit of protection the free versions normally doesn't.

Apple's Iphone are not impervious to attacks either. Have seen and heard about phones being used in manners you wouldn't want it to be.

So just keep to trusted apps, use a AV and change your PW's regularly as you would any other place.

The general consensus among my friends and family, and indeed customers I speak too because of my occupation being in the mobile industry is that Android is far less secure than Apple. This is partly because Andriod is open source and every Tom, **** & Harry can learn how it works and then exploit.

With Apple however, obviously they are very closed as to how iOS works and don't discuss it so its harder for people to exploit. I once discussed this with an Apple rep and they said that although attacks still happen because of the stance they've taken on discussing the code iOS coding and even the submission guidelines they have in place, the attacks are normally very limited, and few and far between.

Android seems to get exploited regularly.

Yep agree with everything you have said.

It was mentioned by a Dev (sry forgot which one) that Gateway will be web browser-based, so it won't matter much if it's Android or iPad.

    You're safe :)

Bah, security through obscurity is no security at all. Not talking about it just means the exploiters are the only ones who know the exploits.
