I am so wanting the Retrofit version, good thing I have two Romulan characters who are under level 30, so I can get the Level 30 one and then get the Retrofit version for them.

    I'm excited for these ships.

that ensign engineer is unsettling for me, I like the way the ship looks and its powers, but that bridge officer set up... I think I will pass for now.

    Appreciated.

That completely makes up my mind on not getting these. As pretty as they are, they're going to be outclassed by every other versatile Tac oriented Warbird already flying (T'Varo, Dhelan and Mogai).

Is there any reason as to why it's not getting a fleet variant at this time?

Its nice to see a free version, even if its the level 30 ship.

a fleet version would be nice soon.

There is a thread for feedback, and the feed back was overwhelmingly that the stats and layout of this ship were middle of the road and not particularly novel, or different from what is already available.

This looks like exactly the same ship that garnered that feedback.

I'm a bit confused on what the purpose of the feedback thread was for.

Oy. I liked this ship testing it out on Tribble, but between the Fleet Dhelan or Ha'feh, not really much of a choice. :(

I have been reading the feedback thread since it started and this is what I believe most of the players who took part in that thread will also be wondering.
    What was that threads purpose?

To make sure it literally didn't cause the Tribble server to implode while using the ship, nothing more.

So no, not really much point in asking for feedback if 99% is set in stone already.

Been here so many times before though...... :(

I actually think that's what they're going for tbh, and wanted it playertested to make sure it was averagely mediocre - that's the impression I got. If that's the case, job done.

Beautiful looking ship, and I definately like her. Right now I fly a Fleet T'varo that I treat more like a Raptor.

Other than a bit more hull for a bit less turn, not sure hat the point of this ship is.

I only have purchased the Zen store T'varo and the Scimitar 3pk.

But this bird is definately attractive and I probably have enough dilithium squirreled away

But like I said, just not entirely sure what I will use her for.

I think the only ship console sets I use is the T'varo set which rocks, have to test this so called annihilation mode and beam, which makes me think of the Vesta beam, good for taking out gates but not much else.

So you want this to completely overshadow the other Warbirds with the exception of the D'D and Scimitars?

More accurately, I'd like to have seen the ship fill a nice not filled by every other warbird. As it stands right now there is nothing these ships can do that another Tac heavy warbird can't do better.
    f2pdrakron wrote: »
The ship is mediocre because the Romulans are tripping on Tactical Warbirds, I find amusing the people that complain about "power creep" seem the first ones in line for the next OP ... sure the ship simply have no much place at T5, does at T4 since you only have the D'D over there and there is some need of lower tier Warbirds, that is if they sold and if the usual crowd would not be demanding a T5 version as if every damn ship in this game must be at T5 or else no buy.

Two things. Firstly, folks demand a T5 version because all it takes is a player sneezing, and they've outleveled a tier.

Secondly the ship is mediocre because it's decidedly inferior to every other T5 Tactical-ish warbird.

The Mogai can't turn or alpha as well this thing can. It can't create sci builds that would synergize with its consoles as well this thing can. It looks good though.

I was hoping for a Vesta hybrid that could fill out the science ships on the Romulan side.

And no, not once did anyone want OP, just not the mediocre ship that this is...

Some of the images of the ship look like they could have been reduced in size better - lots of jaggies.

    1) If you can't alpha effectively in a Mogai, you can't alpha effectively in any ship. The combination of Aux2Bat + Marionized DEM capability, more Tac boff seating (Cmd + Lt vs Cmd + Ens) and the inherent power drain resist make the Mogai one of, if not the best, alpha platforms currently ingame.

    2) The Dhelan straight up beats the Ar'Kif. Identical hull, identical turn rate, identical console slots, better boff seating, superior shield modifier, and a two piece bonus that doesn't suck. Toss in a fleet Dhelan, and there's absolutely no comparison.

    3) I agree that both the Ar'Kif and Ar'Kala are beautiful. That doesn't make it a more effective ship.

    Why Cryptic!?!?!?!

We told you we did not want the mutant offspring of a Mogai and Dhelan... Why try to give it to us?

    Seriously,

    Less Tanking then a Mogai.
    Less Versatility then a Dhelan.
    Less Firepower then a Ha'Feh.
    Less Turn then a T'varo.

What is this ship supposed to do? It is weaker in every area the Dev Blog says it is better. The only thing this ship is statistically better then, is a Scorpion Fighter... and that is up for debate.

OMG this ship is so sub par it is rediculous. Please before anybody rushes to the defence of this ship. Look up the console layouts of the ships listed above, read thier stats, learn what they are intended to do. They all do better then what this ship can do.

The only thing it has that is new, is the skin, and a fake Universal slot. If it is not used for Engineering, then it is not going to survive long.

Medicore ship without potentially more useful fleet variant? Well done Cryptic, saves me a lot of Zen. :)

Just a shame to waste a beautiful model on such a redundant ship.

I'm gonna have to pass on this one which is a shame as I like the look ... but the look isn't a reason to get it.

I already have money in other warbirds that do the various jobs better.

This one just ... isn't ... well ...... worth it.

Additional ... It didn't help that it felt like we were getting the casual brush off when it came to feedback on the BOFF layout.

Its a nice looking ship and great for romulan/reman characters but I see one problem here. The fact that not just the kdf but the fed side seems to as well be losing out when these quad cannons are part of a set where as the main 2 factions do not seem to get any kind of advantage where those do.

Oh yeah the other aspect after reading post above lol. This would have gotten more profit if it was released with LoR but at this point in time where people have made their romulans and grinded the same stuff to death 4 months after the fact its not gonna sell well imo.

Although the Romulan Republic's fleet was launched with repurposed ships from the Romulan Star Empire, Republic leaders quickly saw the need to design their own starships. The first ship design to come out of the New Romulus Shipyards is the Ar'Kif Tactical Warbird.

Last time I checked the space above New Romulus was just space and no shipyards, space stations or defences of any kind, not even republic ships "patrolling and defending", or even traders and freighters bringing supplies.

Not even the ferengi have got their hands into new romulus yet - which is unlike our lobed brethren :)

As a faction homeworld and major endgame hub this should have some life around the planet at least.

Just my two pence is all :D

On a side note, looking forward to more variety in our green blooded, pointy eared brethren's shipyards :)

I for one am happy they don't release a new OP ship and only one you call 'mediocre'.

For me, it's a valid alternative to a Mogai or a Dhelan, that is, if I didn't like the mogai look a lot more.

(The fact it's another tac warbird and not a sci or even eng one is another issue, one that no one at cryptic probably cares about.)
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

Wholeheartedly concur. "New Romulus Command" should be relocated into an orbiting space station, not unlike Earth Spacedock. All players have access to the station, but only Romulans of either alliance should have access to specific Romulan-only areas (Ship Requisitions come to mind).
