Original and new class design that is almost "flying starbase" HUGE, within game engine limits of course, and looks like something the Federation would build. Maybe even a "step between Odyssey and Universe".
7 weapons. Cannot load cannons.
Comm Eng, LtComm Sci, Lt Eng, Lt Tac, Ens Sci.
5 turn, 20 inertia.
2 hangar slots
Launches Centaur frigates
4 eng/3 sci/3 tac consoles

>Centaur frigates have Eng Team, Sensor Scan, TSS, phaser arrays, point defense turrets, photon torpedoes

I think this kind of frigate design makes sense for the Federation. Not some super-dps-y ripoff other players love to pile on us. We've got the best tactically focused carrier in the game! Don't need another one! Instead, give us something with more Eng!! Then, the Feds have carriers of all flavors.

"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.

Thanks for Harajuku. Now let's get a real "Magical Girl" costume!

    I'd vote "no".

These carrier superlatives have to stop somewhere. Why would the federation build something like that? For what purpose? I'd rather see actual Star Trek ships implemented or the existing ones being taken care of.

Besides, the Centaur type is not a frigate. It is a "cruiser", bigger than the Miranda which is also a cruiser and no frigate. And both are fully spaceworthy ships on their own, why would you want to "carry" them? It all makes no sense :(

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this.

Hell, call it the Jupiter-class (with an all-new model) and shut those crazies up.

    Ahem.
Frigates (also known as Corvettes or Light Cruisers) are small, maneuverable vessels used by almost every faction...

Both Miranda and Centaur are called Frigates in game.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

Please not another one. Dont we have enough big, slow, lumbering engineer ships?

    Centaurs really?

Unless the ship is the size of a star destroyer (which a good portion of our ships would fit in) No corevettes or light cruisers. for those that dont know a Star Destroyer is 1,600 meters long by 1,015 Meters wide.

So next we have the rebel corvette coming in at 150 meters long. Just fits into that big old bay.

The sovereign (by an average, that average being stats from a gillilion places) is about 685Meters long, 250 Meters wide, and 88 Meters tall.

Centaur and miranda, is between 167 Meters and 234.9 Meters. So to hold JUST ONE the ship would have to outsize EVERYTHING in out fleet.

You want it go for it. Give it a turn rate of 1 and an inertia rating of 80-100. Beacuse to balance that gaping weak point the superstructure of the ship (chassis if you will) would have to be massively reinforced around 1 bay AND YOU WANT TO GIVE IT TWO!

get one, go into Kerrat become target practice for EVERYTHING.

Okay, I didn't know that. Doesn't make the least bit of sense :D

Then I'd say the ship should carry Constitution class cruisers as well :)

Funny how alittle diggin on the old interwebs can provide you with a lot of information.

Even the Defiant which is never truly stated for length ranges from 80 Meters to 150 Meters.

I just wish people would do a hair more research before they ask for certain things.

But then you would get people flipping about how the refit sovereign had 16 phasers, 1 quantum and like 8 photons. :D

Well, weaponry is one thing but the game did get the size differences approximately right (with the esception of actual "frigates" and shuttles being enlarged for aestethic purposes). It doesn't even work with the ingame sizes :D It should be basic to associate that a Miranda class uses a Constitutions saucer and nacelles. Even without the secondary hull carrying that ship around makes no friggin sense. I have a blueprint poster of the Miranda (actually the USS Reliant) that says it's supposed to be 277x172x74 meters. Like you said, I think people simply want an "Executor" class star Destroyer :D

It would be expensive to outfit it but i wouldnt have an issue with ships having the amount of weapons they are supposed to.

OT: I wouldnt hav an issue with a carrier than can carry 2 frigates. the more variety of ships the better.

Nah man, They want a Death star not a Super Star Destroyer. Personally i would take an Eclipse with its mini death star beam on the front :D Maybe the new Gal-X:eek:

OP, you completely lost me at "HUGE flying starbase".

One of the reasons the Enterprise-J was nixed was its size.
Same would apply to a mobile base.

I don't think there's a need to say anything else.
