Well, first, the forums are always slower on the weekends - plus now we have people returning to school which makes forum less of a priority. While it might seem like I've been on the forums a lot over the last month I've actually spent a ton of time with my kids getting them ready for school to start on Monday. I haven't even played the game for a month now.
Second, you have KDF players asking questions on the main forum - such as someone asking about new Gorn traits there rather then in the KDF forum. If the dedicated KDF players are willing to post outside the forum what hope does the forum have?
Finally, this section of the forum is a bit of an angst pit. There's too many KDF players constantly bytching about what happened in the game 3-4 years ago, who just won't move on. Some people are just happy to play the game and don't want to be told how much it sucks for the KDF because it took them 3 years to get mission content or whatever. There's too much KDF anger in this section of the forum. It scares people away. Heck, my son loves all-things Klingon but I won't let him anywhere near this forum. I'm probably not alone there.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Are you joking? KDF forums, inactive? There are 35K posts in the Fed gameplay forum...and 43K in the KDF gameplay forum. Sure, by comparison, our SHIPYARD section is a little dead, but can you blame them? Remind me again, what was the last KDF ship in the C-Store...wasn't it the Bortasqu, over a year ago? It is entirely understandable that Klingons have nothing to talk about shipwise...the last KDF ships just went obsolete about two weeks ago when the Monboss put the last remaining bastion of KDF shipping, the Battlecruiser, to pasture.

Have you noticed most of the Fed forums (Gameplay & Shipyard) are people complaining about the Galaxy R &X, begging for a Constitution or Miranda to be made T5 uber ships or for a Fed version of one of our ships?
Other than that it's people asking for help.
I asked for advice a few days ago, got plenty of responses and consider the problem solved.
Perhaps our forums are more effective since we solve problems, and resolve to work with what we have.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

One can also ask questions at First City and not get the dumbass answers one would expect from ESD.
It may be dead quiet at times at First City / Qo'nos, but in general, help can be attained and not regularly have the stupid zone chat as they do in ESD.
As for talking about ship builds, for us now it's mostly new players asking them. Our lineup has received no attention for endgame ships in a long, long time, so there really is not much to talk about, other than bringing up gripes and suggestions.
I've noticed for a while now that the people who play klingons mostly tend to be vets or people who know what they are doing. It's kinda like the next level up, once you master the fed side then you move on to Klingon. Having to have a fed toon first for a while probably helped build that thought process.

Wow, only 3 posts before the inevitable mighty klingon warrior temper tantrum over Cryptic doing or not doing something. You guys are getting better and better at taking potentially productive threads down into the gutter of whining with something completely unrelated to the topic.
Maybe the reason noone visits the KDF forums is because for three years you guys have cried yourselves hoarse over everything and nothing and noone takes you guys seriously anymore.
The KDF faction players are like the girlfriend you put up with because you're afraid of being alone, but the sad fact of the matter is all she does is whine and complain and you just have to tune it out to keep the peace.

Wow, only 9 posts before the inevitable "Klingons whine" post.
Maybe the reason there are so few posts in the KDF forums are the people who constantly come in and shout "whiner" no matter who says what.
First of all, like doffingcomrade said - there are more posts and replies in the KDF section of the forum than on the Fed. one.
The forum might have gotten a bit slower lately, but there are simple and logical reasons for this:
- The player bootyboots created the "Master list of KDF issues", so all Klingon players share their bugs and issues there, in one place, making a clearly visible compilation of all the troubles that KDF is facing to players and devs alike. From experience I know that KDF players are more organized, so we accepted that thread as a way to express our concerns rather than spamming the forum with hundreds of other threads.
- The KDF is a complete faction now. Yes, it still has it's shortcommings, but the general idea is that it's now a full leveling and PvE experience, without being locked behind the Federation for 25 levels. Many players are content with this improvement and don't come to complain about stuff because the biggest issue was resolved. To me it feels that the new Klingon I made after LoR is my first complete KDF char. due to this and I've been enjoying the game on the red side.
- The KDF players are generally more organized and the majority is very knowledgeable about the gameplay and mechanics. I have seen players starting threads asking for advice or insight that were resolved by the first KDF player who gave a detailed and thorough explanation and help, so there was no need for anyone else to post in and continue the discussion in said thread.
- I have seen that the most KDF players that post here are realists. In his latest KDF related interview for "The Gates of Sto'vo'kor" dStahl was very direct and almost brutally honest about what is planned for the KDF in the near future. One C-Store ship later this year and the next time we get ships is Season 10. There will be fleet ships in between, but which and when is up to Geko.
KDF players knowing that this has been made clear in a very honest manner won't start 100 threads about "The K'Vort" or the "New Negh'var" like there are thoulsands of threads about Tier 5 Connie, 1000 about U.S.S. Vengeance and so on...We'll just wait for what was promised.
- Sometimes more is not better. When a new or inexperienced player gets his answer and proper advice within 3 to 5 posts, I consider that better than the thread that simply asked for ex. "What is the best KDF escort?" to evolve into a global useless debate about anything or everything.

Who's whining? I'm satisfied with how things are. I'm just saying, that's how it IS. But never forget this: The entropy of a closed system can only increase. This means whatever happens, things will get worse, and the best thing that could happen is for the neglect to simply continue. Let's not forget what happened the LAST time we got attention: 20 extra levels of pointless grind and the "skip" button nerfed.
And that's why, despite the crappy situation that things may appear to be in, I'm perfectly fine with being left alone.
Wow.... just wow... so... it is heard KDF will get a new Ship before or AT Season 8.... and wont get a new one until Season 10... while the Federatoin will get a few again...
I'm trying my best not to whine, but why does Cryptic HAVE to sell KDF ships in years and FED ships in months... its just sad... there just isn't much to work with on the Empire, Ships are good... more so consoles... but variety to decide? None.
Again, Cryptic must find a deem-able Reason or they wont do it. Here is what I think a Good reason is...

MAAAAAYBE. I find this claim frankly implausible. The second part is also implausible, since I see no reason why there would be a new ship in Season 10 given that there won't be on in season 8.
Klingon High Council: We are in desperate needs of supplies, please, give us some so we can continue our arsenal of ships...

Q: Oh... I see. *checks his mind* I am sorry, the Federation does not want you to have new ships. They are willing to pay me, at least, pay me entertainment to see the Federation dominate your warrior Faction. Funny most of the PvP matches I join it is the KDF who wins, often by a landslide. Like most others here, I feel that the KDF is finally a full progression Faction. Sure there could be more things such as storyline missions, but between the Empire Defense, Ship/Player/Turret Killer missions, exploration, and some storyline missions the KDF is now actually better than the Federation faction was at launch. I will also agree that more experienced players are the ones who stick to the "Red" side of the house, even if they are green-blooded.

A large percentage of the Feds have the false impression that they should win without effort , gear or ability because they are the federation. Plus the pve builds them up to be the next captain badass. It is a rude awakening for many when they meet the business end of the KDFs disruptors.

No kidding! The few times I queue Fed side, I expect that we will loose so I try to find something productive to do, such as staying with the biggest meat sheild and try to score at least one kill. In ground arena matches, I loot the medical crates for a few extra EC. Since I tend to be squishy in PvP, I let others distract and occupy the Fed players while I either snipe (in arenas), loot crates, kill turrets and NPCs, or Cap flags in Capture matches. The only time I really get upset is when the KDF team is a bunch of noobs who get so distracted by a fight that they ignore everything else going on in the match.
