Duty officers and Ship crew size

If i upgrade my maximum duty officers to say 300, and once i get my Tactical Fed char to 50 i plan on getting the Heavy Escort Carrier , which has a crew of 200, will this affect the maximum duty officers i can have?

    No. Your duty officer capacity is separate from your ship's crew stat. You can upgrade to the 400 maximum and fly a B'rel (crew 30) with no problems.

    Which is kind strange when one stops to think about it.

    Be interesting if They actually limited the DOffs to the size of the ships crew.
    (plus & minus)

    Be a lot more Galaxy class ships wandering around for sure!
