Dropping 'Secret Shuttle Codes'

My mission bar has 'Secret Shuttle Codes' slotted. Now I have no time nor desire to go running around like an idiot on New Romulus, so I would very much like to drop the mission. You know... Choose what I DO want to do, and not have my mission bar cluttered with what I DON'T want to do.

Can any of you nice people at Cryptic tell me how to get rid of the bleeping mission?

    Hey Richard,

I'm not from Cryptic but to drop a mission just go to the In Progress tab in the Mission window (by using the J key) and there is a drop button on the bottom of the mission's summary

    Hi David.

I am aware of the 'Drop' button, in the mission tab. Unfortunately for this mission, that button is greyed out, and can not be used. If only it had been that simple. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, though. :)

It's true, the "Drop" feature is greyed out. The same is true for the Caves. I've actually completed both including turning in the reports. However, the mission does not close out. The mission is completed and nothing more to be done. I've sent several tickets on this but to no avail. What's really annoying is that when I go to "View My Tickets", there's no open tickets. So I've also taken the liberty of posting here in forums.

Some missions will not complete. They will remain in your "missions" window and you cannot drop them.

The reason why it is greyed out is that there is no way to obtain it again if someone drops it. The mission is just viewing a cutscene at the end of the Mountain Pass mission. Just finishing the mission is not enough. You have to interact with an object in the last room and this applies to the Mountain Pass, Cave, and Ruin missions. The Ruin mission should be done since it gives a ton of unrefined dilithium and a bunch of Romulan Marks for completing it. So your only choices are do the mission or ignore it since according to the devs, it is working as intended.

This is correct. The missions you get automatically upon claiming a new tier in the romulan reputation can't be acquired again. Hence why you can't drop them.

These missions are one time only completion though so when you file report/hail D'tan, you never see them again.

For 'Secret Shuttle Codes' you need to do the mountain pass instance which is also unlocked at tier 2 romulan rep. Inside the mission in the last room at the end, you will see a romulan prisoner on the ground in front of a shuttle. When you go up to the prisoner you will see 2 options, 1 to free the prisoner for the mission objective and 1 to view a cutscene. After viewing the cutscene there will be a new button to "File Report". Make sure to click it to file the report BEFORE you leave the map, even if the instance is completed. If you leave before filing the report, you won't be able to for 20 hours.

That's another thing. The instances like the mountain pass mission are dailies that can be completed once per day. The cooldown starts when you complete the mission, so there is no way to do it twice in the same day. Often times players don't know the missions are dailies and they don't notice you need to view a cutscene and file a report/hail D'tan before leaving the map, so they think they are stuck with missions such as 'Secret Shuttle Codes' that can't be dropped and can't be completed.

To redo an instance unlocked when you reach a certain tier in romulan reputation, go to the transporter where the mission entrance is and talk to the Romulan Civilian next to it. For example, use the transporter to go to the mountain pass area and talk to the civilian there to take the mission for the mountain base. If you completed the mission less than 20 hours ago, when talking to the civilian there will be a timer on the button to accept the mission showing how much longer you need to wait.

"5 man instances" - These are the daily instance missions.
"Cutscene Missions" - These are the missions you gain automatically upon reaching each tier of romulan reputation. These can not be dropped and can only be completed once each since there is no way to get them again. You get no rewards at all for completing them anyway, except maybe a little bit of skill points/expertise. The cutscene missions are only to tell a story. You can press the 'ESC' key on your keyboard during each of these cuscenes to skip them if you don't want to watch them.

Also a minor note on the last Romulan Reputation mission. You get the Ruin mission at Tier 4, but the cutscene mission for it which has the ton of dilithium ore and Romulan Marks unlocks at Tier 5. The Ruin Mission also requires EV suits which can be obtained for 100 dilithium per suit. So if you have no EV suits, then you need to spend 500 dilithium for you and your bridge officers. So don't do the Ruin mission at Tier 4 if you want to limit your exposure to Romulan Rep missions.

You don't need to spend dilithium, you can pick them up off the exchange for EC. They have even included an exchange console in the staging area so you don't even have to go far to get them. I equipped all my BOFFs with blue suits as they were going cheap.
