Launcher crashes after login.

Hi there. I haven't played in a couple weeks and it seems like there has been a patch or two since then.

The launcher is fine when I open it. I can log in just fine. As soon as it gets to the next screen with the Patch button, it errors out and closes itself. I submitted the error once for the sake of it, but I know that's not going to fix my problem.

I redownloaded the launcher a couple of times from the big thread where there's usually an updated one, but it hasn't changed anything whatsoever. I also deleted the stuff in the Cache folder, but that didn't change anything either.

Am I going to have to reinstall or is there something else I should try? It looks like this:

Also it's worth saying that I don't have a firewall or zealous anti-malware program up. My ISP isn't Verizon either (it's Charter) as that seemed to be a point of issue for many people.

My Neverwinter launcher does the exact same thing. I guess it's off to the PWE tech forums!

Your not the only one having issues. I log in get to the account server. Get into the character selection were it hangs for 3 min. Then I try to log a toon in and receive a Login_2 error.

Or I am immeadiatly disconnected. Sometime I be able to log in for 15 min the I get rubber-banding and what a shock a disconnect.

Everything on my end is fine. I have plenty of wireless connection. No problems with the modem or servers.

After this last patch I got 5--8 hours of perfect connection. However were now back to 6 to 12 login just to play a game for 15min before I'm disconnected.

I've been a gold member since closed Beta. You think I have priority over some silver bum playing for free. Or some dude spamming WTS small hypos for 1 million c-bills.

On the off chance that it was a issue with that stupid Account Guard. I authenticated my computer, changed my password and checked my account.

Cryptic you can just keep giving me free stuff from the c-store until you fix these server issues. If you can't get this fixed by the end of the year then I find something else to waste my time, and money on. Or I spend a hour on the phone with Perfect World customer service they a do have a number.

That might be issue one of your tech guys might want my account or something. There just trying to drive me crazy who know.

All I can say is fire your in house techs because if this keeps up your going giving away a lot more free stuff from the c-store.

You are in it seems the exact same position as myself, as soon as those two words, loading launcher appears on the sto launcher i get the same white cryptic error reporter pop up.

As for ISP im in the UK so its completely different ISP's to you. Everything was working fine my end before the patch. after the patch that little white box is all i have seen.

I've now spent over 10 hours trying to force the launcher to patch. Steam is having the exact same issue at the same point. I went looking for a full download manual patch installation file, but even though according to tech support pages there is one, its been removed and replaced with arc.

I've downloaded and installed arc, still have the exact same issue once the initial 110mb has been downloaded by arc.

I've tried copying files over from steam and tried tricking the launcher into force verifying them, but again its not happening.

The launcher system is breaking in between entering password and before the patcher actually launches.

Due to this there is no way of forcing a verification, or triggering it to start in safemode. There also doesnt seem to be anyway of manually triggering the patcher to pull the latest versions of files.

I downloaded Arc last night but couldn't get it to find my installed games after making it search in my Cryptic Studios folder. I'm really not sure if a bunch of reinstalling will help when both STO and Neverwinter launchers crash at the exact same time.

I putzed around with all the launcher settings, but yeah, there doesn't seem to be a way to even make it verify the files before it tries to start patching again and crash.

It's pretty frustrating. I'm not sure what more I can do.

And it turns out my Champions Online launcher crashes too as soon as I log in to it and the 'Patch' button pops up.

Since I can't get Arc to somehow detect three games after setting their location, I'm just breaking down and using Arc to reinstall STO entirely (it seems like I don't really have a choice in that anyway). But if it's a problem with connecting to the patch server or something to that effect with all the games, I don't expect it to help much.

Having the same issue, after entering username, password and clicking enter I get the "Cryptic error Oops!" pop-up. Submitted a ticket but nothing yet other than an automated response.

Played for a couple hours this morning and everything was fine. Have since been getting the cryptic error popup box the last three times trying to log into game.

So I reinstalled the game (kept a copy of the set-up, so I didn't have to use ARC) and so far so good. Game remembered all of my tray setting, etc., so not a major hassle. Let's see how long it lasts.

Hi, I play STO for some time and after my better fun i invite my friend to STO.

He downloaded game from steam, after login game start updated, then crash windows.

We are looking for this problem on google, we try turn down firewal, antivir program, he dont have TeamViewer, we try force veryfi and on-demand, we try update all drivers and we try run in save mode.

He have Windows 7, exactly some PC like is my:
CPU: Intel I-5 4570 4core 3,20
Ram: 8GB
Graphic card: NVIDIA GeFoce GTX 760

I try put all my game files into rar and send him, but nothing, after login game start patch and all windows crash in blue.

Please some tips?
