I picked this sale up last time have, been enjoying my membership for 450 or so days. Wish I could have afforded or justified a LTS one of the times it was on sale, but this is easier on the wallet.

I guess I am in the minority or being a happy camper.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth
    New Content Wishlist
    T6 updates for the Kamarag & Vor'Cha
Heavy Cruiser & a Movie Era Style AoY Utility Cruiser

Matrix said Mail access UNLIMITED. And yet

    General:

Added a message for when a recipients mailbox is full and when there are too many items in it. This will display if:
The recipient has 200 emails in their mailbox.
The recipient has 20 emails in their mailbox with an item attached.
Emails that originate from the Exchange, a mission or other game systems are not included in these totals.
The maximum number of auctions that a player can have active on the Exchange at any given time is 40.
This limit is reduced by one for every returned auction email that is in the player's mailbox.
New French and German localizations have been added.
    Server stability updates.

I fail to understand all the complaining that still exists. I bought a lifer at pre-launch and yes, there were times I was angry with cryptic mostly when their overlords were EA. We sure dodged a bullet by ending that partnership. But now I am more than happy. The game has grown so much and doesn't seem to be slowing down. If they can keep new episodes coming at a regular basis alla TV series style the game defiantly is worth financially supporting.

I fail to understand the whole "it's a really fun game to play but only if it is free" mentality, especially since many of these people also complain about having to spend money on ZEN to get cool items.

These people (the devs) are not spending the majority of their waking lives making this game (which is not always a fun and glamours job and is very labor intensive) for charity. They need to feed themselves, raise their children, and pay medical bills. The more people subscribe to the game, the more money we give them, the more resources they have to make the game better.

They are no longer under the money grubbing EA umbrella. If you enjoy the game, give them some money to support your experience, and get some cool perks in return. If no one pays, no one plays. So lets all stop being big babies and return the favor of entertainment they provide with a fair subscription. Give them the resources to take the game to the next level. Lets show the world that Star Trek can be super profitable again and convince CBS to invest more into the franchise!!!!!

Where is the Star Trek sense of humanity on this page? I definitely feel the lessons of Gene Roddenberry lacking in this community, and that is sad.

Cryptic was owned by Atari prior to PW buying them in May of 2011, not EA. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I noticed that there is a sale Gold Subscription sale that was posted in the news as dated 2013-07-25 and in reading the information that is listed in describing the Gold Subscription Sale a few questions have come up and need to get a few things explained up for me.

In the Gold Subscription Sale information that the ?NEWS? link takes you too, it states that ?Gold members also get a monthly Cryptic Store stipend of 500 Zen??

Is this stipend only for new monthly subscribers?

Is this stipend good for new Lifetime members also?

Does this stipend apply to existing Gold Subscription Members?

In clicking on the link provided in the Gold Subscription sale news that goes to the ?FEATURES MATRIX?,? I see that it states that Gold Members (monthly or Lifetime0 are to receive a ?Monthly Stipend of 500 Promotional Points.? I see by clicking on the ??? next to the ?Monthly Stipend? that Promotional Points differ from Zen in that they can only be used in Star Trek Online. This brings up some additional questions that are:

    What are these Promotional Points?

    What are they used for?

How does a player know that they have received these Promotional Points?

When does a player receive these Promotional Points?

With ARC looming on a cloudy horizon? I don't think so...

Honestly, not going to buy a LTS until I stop seeing quality of life "fixes" that harm players...

-Dilithium store sell option removal. Selling items conveniently was... convenient. It's not like we can't just fly to a vendor, or PvE from a location with said vendor... but it is bothersome to do so, and you really seem to like inconveniencing your players. When did you add a Replicator Efficiency upgrade to the C-Store that allows us to recycle items at 50% base value? Yeah...

-Mail system attachment limit. Yup, can't do long term storage anymore; and when did you remove the limit on the number of shared and character bank slot purchases? Likewise, when did you make it possible to transfer doffs via a shared bank? Yeah...

-Exchange posting limit. This is actually a means of enforcing the Mail attachment limit above. Since the system was not counting Exchange mails, it left a means of long term storage available by just keeping the expired item mailings. I didn't figure that out until we actually got the information about the attachment limit worked, which must be why you didn't tell us how it worked for several months. Really, for the payroll hours you spent on these adjustments... how much could you have paid the folks working on bugfixes or mission design instead?

-Tour the Galaxy, a one hour event completable in full 3-4 times (even prior to LoR) by just flying, having a 4 hour cooldown... seriously, at that point you can open up the Event rotation a bit and just make Tour a Daily. It's not our fault you introduced a half dozen or more ways to increase sector space travel...

-Changing the game download so that it requires Arc for all new players. I actually tried out Arc when it first became available, and found that it did very little that couldn't be done from within my web browser. My web browser also actually integrates with my security suite by design, however, and Arc makes not guarantee that it will do so in its EULA. How many of you have seen "disable your firewall" as a suggestion to make a MMO run/patch better?

...as well as the general lack of communication in what is being done to the game, and why. That is one thing about the Tour the Galaxy "fix" that was handled better than usual; while it was not mentioned within the Patch Notes originally, at least this information was added within hours rather than weeks or months after it has been "fixed". Still, the general lack of communication is not exactly inspiring.

    600+ days subsciber here...

It is NOT worth even considering... I'm going to cancel my subscription in september (sadly I've already paid up untill then)
I was all for supporting the game but after dealing with PWE customer support i've changed my mind.. they have sorted out my problems (missing stipend) but i took them far too long in both occasions and i had to fight endless automated mail before seeing my problem sorted.. that was just frustrating!
    perks are NOT worthed!
The game its an endless grind now! why would you pay for a game that forces you to grind all day long?

I think that my game experince will be improved once i'll go f2p (I'm sure i won't get so upset over a FREE GAME).

Cryptic should at least try to fix some of the 100s bugs currenty present in this game, they don't even bother to fix the thing they just sold you... see the scimitar an how long did it take (apparently its still bugged, I don't know because i was so upset after spending RM to buy the bundle that I've moved back to my old ship and BTW it not the first time and not the only ship suffering from bad coding)

I appollogize in advance to mr bran flakes I know you work for this company but this game its just this bad! ppl should know what they are going to spend their hard earned money on! I WISH I KNEW

BUT if you just feel like supporting the game without expecting ANYTHING BACK go ahead this its the right time to do it...

CRYPTIC SHOULD START WORKING ON BUG FIXES BEFORE PROMOTING SUBSCRIPTION... that way they could earn back some of their customers trust maybe even mine... I could still chance my mind and keep subscribing but I WANT TO SEE THIS GAME AND ALL OF ITS PARTS WORKING CORRECTLY and I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this way!

Yeah, wish there would be less grinding. I would already be happy with an account wide reputation system and the removal of most if not all bound to character items.

I won't even consider a subscription as long as this isn't the case, most bugs are fixed and a native Mac version is released. (like they said more than half a year ago)

I know some people have reported issues getting their stipends, but that's one bug (knock on wood) that I've never had to deal with. I've got my stipend on the 27th of every month, bar none.

    :o

You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

The reply I got from billing support...
A stipend is granted to an account within a few days of a subscription payment being received and then on the monthly anniversary (for 3 month and 6 month subscriptions). Please let us know if you do not receive your 500 Zen stipend within the 10 days from billing date.
