ZOMG! The bunny's been hard at work and he's pretty sure he's found some sooper secret information that all Fed players need to have!

Seriously though, this isn't serious. Try to go into it with a relaxed state of mind, and maybe a beer. Or two.

You think that your beta test was bad?

To be fair, most of those players weren't particularly good. I'd have done the same thing to 'em, and I'm not as good as Thissler. They're leaving big, honkin' gaps in their defenses, just begging for BoP attention :)

Pound for pound, Romulan ships are better at this business. . .but KDF BoPs can still get a few kills in if they time the attacks right.

    Here!

And yes, most of those players, well all of those players, weren't being particularly good at those very moments. Some of em weren't being very good for a large number of moments leading up to that point now that I think about it.

Anyway, the idea is that if you get a bit complacent, forgetful in the heat of the moment, or just plain don't know how to properly protect yourself even an out of date KLINGON can get a lucky shot in! That's all really.

Have fun happy flying and all that!

EDIT: I'm fairly certain Cryptic shops there for music as well.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean somebody's not trying to kill me.

Was there ever any Star Trek TV screen evidence about shields being redistriuted, anyway?

ENT's Duras got pasted specifically because he refused to redistribute his shields. I'm sure there are others, but that's the first one to come to mind.

it wasn't so much shield distribution, it was buffing the forward shields at expense of the rear

A quick Google returned this: http://www.chakoteya.net/nextgen/123.htm

WORF [OC]: Engineering, increase power to forward shields.

    Also this: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Deflector_shield

Specific sections of the shield grid could take more damage than other sections, and be reinforced with additional power reserves, so tactical officers would report on the health of the shields by section if need be.

    Etc, etc, etc...etc, etc, etc...

If they do increase the power to forward shields that means they only buff one facing. Now we can not set different power lvls for different facings. The only way to affect one facing is to redistribute shields.

Also "transferred his aft shields forward" is exactly that. The use of your aft shields strength to buff your forward shield. The only thing they do have in the series, is simple shield power. Which I would say means both, hp and the power lvl. In STO our shield power also does not drop if we get shot, our shield hp drop. So I would say shield power in the series is split in STO into shield power and shield hp.

Well, thats my opinion. That also makes me think, it would be interesting if shield power would slowly drop under sustained fire.

My stomach is clear and my mind is full of bacon!
