Dear PvP communuity,
For the first time after the LoR update and due to the success of the 2 previous tournaments Inner Circle has decided to organize a 3rd "No BS" tournament!
Special Thanks goes to to the teams who participated in the last No BS tournament and especially to @ilhansk who took it upon himself to organize it. Nice job !!
Due to many changes, new equipment and the new romulan race as a playable faction we had the idea to bring up a new set of rules that might be interesting and perhaps remind of the old times of PvP before
Season 7.
All playable factions (Klingons, FEDs and Romulans) can take part on it.
The following rules with additional explanation are listed below:
1. No clickable universal consoles:
No clickable abilities granted by universal consoles are allowed to be used. This includes consoles from the exchange, lobi store, and C-Store. You may equip the consoles (for possible passive boosts), but executing a clickable ability granted by a universal console is prohibited.
Universal consoles that grant passive abilities (for example the Assimilated module, or Plasmonic Leech) may be used.
2. No use of integrated ship cloaks ( battle cloak and advanced battle cloak):
You may use ships that have innate cloaking, but you may not use the build-in cloaking abilities. So called secondary cloaking abilities that are not ship-specific, like the romulan T5 Reputation ability or "Mask Energy Signature", are allowed.
3. Temporal Inversion Field is not allowed
4. No Scramble Sensors with doffs (The ability itself is no issue)
5. No Advanced or Yellowstone Runabouts Broken)/Interceptors/Romulan Drone ships of the new Scimitar carrier (Scramble Spam)
6. No Nukara Mines (Broken)
7. No Boarding parties:
In addition the actual Boarding Party Bridge Officer ability, pets that are using Boarding party are also prohibited.
Each team should consist of no more than 3 of the same type of captains and ships.
You have to consider that once u are in a team and have played, you cannot move to another one.
Run of the tournament:
The competition will be devided into 2 phases: The group phase and the knockout-round
In the group phase each team has to fight his opponents in a first and a second half of the campaign, hence each team is going to play at least 6 matches. For that reason we must halve the match duration from 30 to 15 min to be able to finish the group phase in the first day and to make the PvP-matches more exciting! Once the group phase is finished the first 2 teams of each group is going to qualify for the ko-round to give more fleets the chance to reach the next round.
The match duration of the quarter - and semifinals will be at 30 min, only the finale match and the match for the third place will last 45 min. In case of a draw, if the match time is over, the match will go on until the next team manage to get 1 more kill. If that happens this team will be announced the winner.
Reward for the winner: Becoming famous!!
The most important thing is not to win but to take part and to have fun. Show that u are part of the PvP-Community and participate!

You should call this Classic instead of No BS.
rule 1:
what is the purpose of this?
you may equip it for a boonus but not use it, which universal console does make you scared?
rule 2:
no integretad cloacks.
this is the most stupid rule of them all.
with this rule, you denie most kdf and romulan players access, most of those ships need a cloack to be competetive against the other ships, this way it will be a 2 fed bug 3 fed wells tournament.
rule 3:
this is the one of the few rules i slightly understand, except that there are mutliple ways to get rid of the effect.
rule 4:
no ss doff?
the only reason to use ss is the doff, if this doff isnt allowed, why isnt it a problem to stack 3 harlem kurlan doffs? they basicly do the same, but based on a change....
rule 5:
the above named pets, are the most common used, aswell as the basic pets of the scimitar,and they are not allowed?
the yellowstone/interceptors and scimi drone's are not overpowered.
this is aa 3 strike out for the scimitar, no cloack, no console's and not its pets? are you affraid of scimitars? or romulans in general?
rule 6:
the mine are not broken, they do perform exactly as stated in the info box, and they dont do much damage at all, they only become a little powerfull, when someone specced into it.
rule 7:
no boarding party's, explain why? what is wrong with boarding party's?
according to the players i have seen in pvp from this fleet, all the above are things they dont like, or is it normal for the "self claimed best pvp fleet" to have members running away with the tail between there legs, when someone is using some of the stuff listed above?
with this rule's, its basicly sitting nose to nose with the enemy, in 1 line:
group 1 may fire salvo 1
group 2 may fire salvo 1
group 1 may fire salvo 2...
etc etc..

If your gonna make your own little sandbox event with heaps of prohibitive rules, call it something more apt.

BS - So basically, no bops? the way the ships with 5 tac consoles, and BO doffs/crf spam etc, no bop will survive a single volley from anyone.
2. No use of integrated ship cloaks
BS - Why dont you just make it a FED ONLY tournament - what a coincidence, its hosted by a fed fleet.
3. Temporal Inversion Field is not allowed
BS - Scramble sensors makes your whole team eat their own tif. TBR pushes them out of the way. Heavy Graviton Beam (3 piece maco) wipes it. So does Viral Matrix. APO/Evasive away from it. Target aux. Photnic Shockwave... ETC ETC. Tif isnt Broken, or OP.

BS - you jsut dont want to have your alpha/snb/BO timer cycles to desynch.

BS - Again, the CRF/BO metagame rears its tired head. Its called a torpedo spread. Get one on your team. Its Called a Scatter Volly. - any premade should have a person or 2 who can take the role of clearing spam, even if its with a Bridge officer they can swap out with the appropriate skill. Welcome to S7. Adapt, get a helmet.
6. No Nukara Mines (Broken)
See #5 - also, its called an eng team. Get one on your team. Sorry if that breaks your plan of making the game SCI/Escorts online. Its an mmorpg. classes and ships each have roles.

People who consider cloaks "BS" clearly are just upset that they are not slotting the skills needed to deal with cloaking ships intentionally or out of ignorance.

the issue is that the tournament is being run under the NO BS banner, and its chock full of BS. Also, that its being hosted by a fleet that has been activly slandering other fleets with baseless accusations, encouraging people to warp out on certain other fleets (that they cant beat in a premade) - and generally whipping the pvp community into a paranoid frenzy that other fleets are cheating. A fleet that will invite you to a premade, and have a person mysteriously disconnect, beg for a restart, Discount 2 of your kills because their player disconnected and come back with different gear after seeing what your team composition was. (ACT Sees All) A fleet that will beat you in a premade, and post the score with their GG in opvp, but when its a loss, its a GG in zone :P - in my opinion, endorsing a fleet that behaves this way is not good for the community that is dwindling every day, with the only new people joining are in it because FBP suddenly made them viable, and protected from damage.
In the end, they (Inner Circle) is taking its time to put something out there for players to choose or choose not to participate with. If you don't like it, don't go... don't sign up.. maybe create your own tourney... and put whatever rules in you would like.

Well, a lot of the BS stems from clickable consoles, so even while some of the consoles may not necessarily be BS or OP or whatever, I can understand where they're coming from. And there are certain fleet(s) that are known to be using 3rd party programs. The way they react to that may not be the best, or maybe it is. I still have friends in said fleet and will team with/against them. When I play a premade match against said fleet I will ask for them to not use 3rd party programs, and that's about as far as I go, but I can understand people that may get more upset over it and take further actions.
It's better to have an even playing field for a truly competitive environment, and I think that's what this tourney is trying to accomplish. It's not perfect, but nothing ever is.

First off...no clickable universal consoles? What the heck is this? I can *maybe* understand banning the Tipler Cylinder (again, I stress the "maybe") or the Antimatter Spread, but not all clickable consoles straight up. Can you give me a reason as to how the Steamrunners Team Fortress console is "BS"? How about the Oberths Enhanced Plasma Manifold? Or what about the Point Defense consoles from the Thunderchild and the Armitage; they shouldn't be an issue, considering you banned the pets they're meant to kill off anyway!!
Secondly...while I agree with the banning of exclusively Romulan Battle Cloaks (sorry to all you Romulans, but I personally hold the belief that Romulan Cloaks + Romulan enhanced criticals is unfairly overpowered and thus "BS"), I don't think its fair at all to ban ALL cloaks across the board. You've essentially banned the entire Romulan faction, plus all the KDF Raptors, B'rels, Hoh'Sus, Negh'Vars, Bortasqu', Vor'Cha, and the large majority of all non-Gorn/Orion/Fek'Ihr KDF side ships...for the most part, banning TWO factions. Now, on top of that, you banned clickable consoles, remember? The Cloaking Consoles equipped by the Defiant and the Galaxy X fall under that category! So, you've effectively banned ALL cloaking vessels, period, with no exceptions.
I'm okay with three and four, as I think Scramble DOFFs and TIF are both totally noob moves...
But seriously, no Runabouts or Interceptors because they are "broken"? Let me remind you guys of the definition of "broken"; broken means something is cracked, damaged, not working properly. The word "broken" does NOT mean "we've lost to it, thus is OP, thus its broken, thus its banned". Yellowstones and Advanced Danubes are not BROKEN, they are just "good". Same concept with the Interceptors. That being said, I'm aware that both ship classes have an issue with tracking cloaked targets...thats not a legitimate reason to ban them, though, considering you ALREADY BANNED CLOAK SHIPS to begin with! Thus, as I already stated, neither the Runabouts nor the Interceptors are "broken", your just banning them because you don't like them (most likely because you have lost to them in the past). Also, as for the Elite Drone ships...while I can *slightly* understand your banning them because of Scramble spam...what would you do if I decided to come into the No BS 3 with a team running two copies of Scramble Sensors each? That has the same general effect as Elite Drones, yet you allow the ability Scramble Sensors to be used by players. Thus, as I stated above, Elite Drones should NOT be banned, and you just banning them because you, again, don't like them, because you, again, most likely lost to them at some point in the past.
Nukara Web Mines I can agree with, but I'm curious as to why you would allowed Aceton Assimilaters and yet ban the Web Mines...
And finally, the Boarding Parties. Why the hell would you ban Boarding Parties (and Marauding Force Shuttles)? They are easily cleared by a Fire at Win, Photonic Shockwave, or Tactical Team...this is a pointless and dumb rule, and should be removed.
Anyway, long story short, until these rules are amended, neither myself nor my team will participate.

No script can make the decisions you or I can make during a match. if you cant outsmart a script, you may as well stick to farmville.
