would it be possible to somehow improve a few things concerning movement in space mission maps.
1st: the "you are in combat and cannot engange full impusle" thing. now its like somewhat 10sec of not getting a hit, to get out of combat status.
why not change this like that: you can engage full impulse after 3-5seconds, while in combat or not! (in combat/ooc status untouched), but doing so will disable shields immediately and/or reduce your defensevalue to actually zero.
i dont know how it is for other players but im always ending up having evasive manuevers on cd just to move somewhere ...
2nd: implement an "out of combat turnrate". first let me say this: im totally clear that carriers HAVE to be slow infight to balance them out. im totally fine with it INFIGHT.
but why not eneable a +8turnrate while out of combat mechanic? im always ending up using evasive manuevers to be able to steer my ship from one point to another in azure nebula (thats what a 45? turn?!) cause my fullspeed turn is so damn slow i would endup almost the opposite bay instead of the right/leftside ones.
3rd: incombat turnratebuffs/abilities. (eptE and aux-to-damp)
nice thing, unused by escorts, due to their immense turn they already have, and useless for the ships that actually need them, since they still buff only the baseturn.
i like the idea of eptE with a +x turnrate buff,
BUT
they overlap with needed eptw and eptS buffs we cannot leave aside!!! you put the turnratebuff on the shared cd of already overpopulated emergencypowerto-abilities!!!
please reverse the eptE turnratebuff to just be speed and change aux to dampeners so that this ability doenst give a %baseturn, but a flat 4 (rank1) and 7(rank2) baseturn for 5sec, and kin resist as usually.
at the moment eptE is very good as buff itself but unfortunately overlaps with the eptS and eptW buff, that are kind of mandatory, since dmg is high in stfs, and everyplace out of stfs theres some nasty enemy that constantly diables you precious weapons systems ^^
4th: instead of changing aux to dampeners, why not implement a new skill, ensign rank ability rank 1,2 lt. auxiliary to thrusters ability.
30sec cd, 15sec shared with other "auxiliary to whatever" abilities, grants 5sec +4baseturn, and 5sec 20% improved defensevalue, 5sec 50% improved reverse-speed for the ensign rank ability. (rank 2 would be 6turn, 30% defense, 75% reverse speed)
only rank 1 and 2 are available.
we already lack of ensign abilities (that do not overlap each other of course ...) since all other ensign abilities either overlap with other ensign abilities of other sections (tacteam with eng team and sciteam) or overlap in the same section (as eptE,W,S,A do ...)
option four is meant as an alternative to option 3, not an addition.
Yeah the game could use some improvements in quite a few areas. I for one think that high Shldpwr should offer some dmg resistance and not just boost regen rate alone. I mean how good is having a shldregen rate of 200-500 per 6secs. when an enemy does 2-10X that amount of dmg per second.
I would appreciate a "run like hell " button to go to full impulse (or even warp) when someone agros the entire universe in mirror incursion.
On a related matter Can someone please tell that idiot admiral on the USS Denison to stop butting in and decloaking me?
