Who at Cryptic is 'tinkering' with Demo Record?

Not long after New Romulus hit our screens there was a subtle change made to Demo Record. The translucent banner at the top of the screen which holds the stop and start buttons (and interface tick box) was made deeper. This meant that when you crop it out of your videos you had to crop out more of the screen, thus lowering the quality of the video.
Since LOR it's happened again, and been made even deeper! Someone has even changed the icons too.

I can't see any logical reason as to why someone would do this. There isn't a way to get rid of it, except to crop it out.
Can you please put it back to what it was, or explain why these changes are being made?
