Andorian quads, not happy

I would like to ask the devs why am I not allowed to put the Andorian quad cannon on to other ships?
The Sao palo has quads that I can equip on any ship so why not the Andorian ones?

I brought the ship when it first came out thinking I could do that and frankly it's been a decision I've regretted ever since.

    By, 'Andorian quads' I'm guessing you mean the Wing Cannons, right?

    Simple answer: It's from a tier 5 ship, and it's a major design of the ship.

    Only with extremely rare cases is something off of a tier 5 ship allowed to be put on any other tier 5 ship. The main example I can think of is the wide-angle Quantum Torpedo off of the Regent class. Even if you can use it on other ships, it's generally a very limited manner; such as 3-set bonuses from 3-ship packs, or stuff like the consoles off the JHEC and J-Dread being usable on the bug, and so on.

    Aside from that, the main reasoning is that: If it's on a tier 5 ship, then it isn't going to be usable on any other ship, so that each ship has it's own interesting things you can get on it, and not use it on other ships.

    Otherwise people COULD use all that tier 5 stuff on anything, like using the Cannon Overload shot as part of a de-cloaking alpha from a Defiant, or people using the 3 piece bonuses of the Vesta on an Intrepid-R, along with other examples.
    I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.

    Never forget to do proper investigations before buying anything - this includes asking or the forum or checking old threads since you can't trust the wiki.

    Always do your homework!

    Reason I say this is you bought the sao paulo's useless cannons too so I see a pattern.

    After hours of brutal testing between quad and dual heavy, i found that the dual heavys deal large amounts of damge in bursts (more than the quads deal) however the quads deal the slughtly less but the damage is constant.

    So the quads work very well in convert with the dual heavyset with the way I have my build set up.


    As for my error with that wing cannons I have no excuse.

    So let me stream line the questions to the devs.
    When can we expect other weapon type quad cannons? Cos at the moment I'am kinda limited to phasers.

    Yeah I saw the same thing but I couldn't find them. And even if I did I bet a fed couldn't use them.

    Next to Mk XII dual heavy cannons, quad cannons... suck.

    Considering they come exclusively from the KDF equivalent of the Sao Paolo (Ning'tao I believe, might be the Ch'tang. I get my C-store BoPs mixed up a lot), that bet would be correct.

    Quad Cannons are pretty much only good as a leveling up weapon not good at end game.

    I think they should allow you to craft Quad Cannons with some mods other then just [Dmg]. For example have them all have [Dmg]x3 with a choice of 1 of the other mods. Also having Fleet Quad Cannons would be nice. Only someone who has unlocked them from buying the C-Store ship for your side with Quad Cannons can craft or get some from Fleet versions.

    I have to disagree with you on the choice of the Andorian Ship. So far, it is the only fed ship that I feel is worth the money is a Kumari. You need to set it up right and fly it right, but when both in place, you can do Half of KA by yourself. You can pull 4 rainbow boats through Infected. You can melt cubes/probes, rapters, and Negvhars in Cure. Pretty easy to set up too.

    2 DHC, 1 QUAD Cannon, 1 romulan Torp, 1 Omega Torp
    1 Cutting Beam 1 Turrett

    Adapted Maco Shield/Deflector
    Romulan Engine

    5x Phaser Relay
    3x Andorian Consoles
    1x Borg Console
    1x Zero Point Chamber/Armor Console

    BOFF
    Tac Team x2
    Torpedo Spread 3 (Fires a MASSIVE amount of Torps. People will beg you to know how you do this when you shove out 20 torps to cubes at 1 time)

    Make certain that you run tac team all the time. Still an Engineer in this config an you will do more dos than 90% of the people in your fleet and have more survivability.

    This is a pretty good idea. They could put "upgrades" in the dil store, that allow you to trade in your [Dmg]x4 quads for one with different modifiers. Or they can make it where you can only upgrade at lvl 50 and get a fifth modifier, to make it more useful at end game. I love my quad cannons, but I just don't get enough use out of them.

    One thing that stopped me from buying the 3 pack in the recent sale ( i do indeed already have sets of xii phasers for my defiant/dread but i had wanted to keep the visual aesthetics of the andorian styled phasers )

    I am actually surprised they have not done something like that because I know their are people who only want to fly ships from a actual Star Trek show/movie and want to get it as close to possible with weapons and still feel strong.

    Kumari is WAY more powerful than the bug ship. The bug ship tanks well but it can't match the kumari for damage in PvP. I's not even close. Everything is second best to the damage of the Kumari class.
