Because the Warp Core is the main component of the ship. Shields, Engines, Weapons, Consoles, and Deflector Dishes are all secondary. The ship has to be designed to include the Adapted Borg Warp Core or else there is problems. It is also the same reason why you can't put a Matter/Animatter Warp Core in a Romulan Warbird and a Singularity Warp Core in a KDF or Starfleet starship. Its like putting a rocket engine into a Model T Ford. Sure you could put one in through some serious modifications, but your ship might be a piece of slag when you are done.

Hopefully reputation system cores will be released soon.

Under the borg set it has a 1/4 thing. Not sure if that's a screwup on cryptic's part or merely a hint at rep cores.

The Borg Set originally included the Borg console before it was moved to the Borg Weapons set in Season 7. This could be a bug related to that or you are looking at outdated information.

Why would you want it anyway? It's junk, the only good thing about it is faster than W10 sector space travel. Apart from that, any Mk XI purple core on the exchange is better, and fleet cores are so much better!

I agree, the only good thing its for is the 3 piece set...though I don't know how much damage the 3 piece does since I don't have it.

Agree'd. I have the ship, the Core isnt all that, nothing you kant get on the exchange. Only thing unique about it is its set passives made for that ship

Its the same as having universal soles on any rare ship. Like the Scimitars unique universals.

Because you can't hook up a microwave to a washer machine and expect to have your clothes clean and dried.

400-500 radiation damage per tick at 130 aux and decent particle gen, higher if you were too increase your particle gen. I had it up to 520 before I moved some points around in my build. however the debuff as applied by in doctrine nanites is base line 110 or so damage, not sure if that's a bug or not, since everything else applies the full dot.

Well, you can try something that stupid...but when you combine incompatible parts...you may end up going off track instead.;)

in both cases there are plenty of people who would try. crazy or not! there is no real reason why those cores wont fit in any other ship that uses regular warp cores. we can exchange warp cores in game so the ship has been designed around them doesn't really count either.

actually I've seen a car (on tv) that had been completely rebuild to use a jet engine alongside it regular engine. the guy even got tax refunds from the US government because technically it was a hybrid.
THE NEW CRAFTING SYSTEM IS TERRA-BAD
First of all it's not even a crafting system! It's just a dumb game system that's nothing more than a glorified slots machine.
second the "special items" you hope will be the saving the saving grace are messed up to.

On that note...People rationalizing the use of the Connie/NX-Class in the game (albeit a Tier 1 ship) and explained that the interior was modern while the exterior was created to appear as a Connie/NX-Class. Same arguement can be applied to a Federation Starship that appears to be a Galaxy Class but propulsion wise is built around a Borg WarpCore.

If one faction...Aligned or not got a significant advantage over your faction (The ability to get places faster then another military force is defiinitely an advantage) your faction would be looking for every possible means to either acquire the same technology or better. The Federation is no exception to this rule. The Defiant, Promethius and numerous other advancements have been devoted to out gun, out perform and out maneuver enemy factions.

For OP no it shouldn't be available for all ships and all character in all factions, mainly because it isn't a Borg warp core it's an "Adapted" warp core for the Tal Shiar "Adapted" Ships!
Not an "Assimilated" Warp core/Singularity Core (which I hope they add to the set eventually, and warp/sing. Cores for the other space sets)

As stated, this core is NOT a borg/omega core it is an adapted core made by the tal shiar and their experimenting with borg tech. therefor it would only work on borg adapted vessels.

Also as far as omega borg set, omega force, maco, honor guard, aegis, romulan, reman, nukara, devs have confirmed that none of those sets will be getting warp cores.

If future sets are added they may get warp cores but currently there is no plan to add cores to the previous sets.

this is probably the reason why some federation captains would refit their ships to use adapted warp cores even if it would take rebuilding the ship deck by deck for several years.

Well, if that's how we're rolling here - I call dibs on the Warp 9 capable Ford Pinto! :P
I'm sure someone would try it and who knows, he might succeed.

well if its "Adapted" why can't i use it with my ADAPTED M.A.C.O. set.
I also agree that it should be on those ships only as it is part of the three peice set for the tal shiar ships.

But i would like Reputation cores that work in concert with my Reputation sets.

I.E. a "assimilated" borg warp core, MACO or Omega core.(also for KDF so dont toss a hissy):D

I would prefer an assimilated warp core to go with the assimilated borg technology set.
