My STO carear - from pre-launch to now.

I just had a historic occasion in my game experience, where through natural play, all 6 of my toons have ended up on DS9 at the same time. In honor of the occasion I decided to take a semi group pic with them all standing in the same spot. This event allowed me to reflect on their path's, and I think makes for a story worth sharing.
Soon as I heard they were offering a lifetime sub I decided to buy into this game. I grew up in the 80's, where if you wanted to play a game you put a quarter in the machine first. So I don't have a problem with paying to play a game, but I did have a problem with paying a monthy sub for a game I also paid full price for - So I stayed away from monthly sub games. - but the lifetime sub was a good enough deal to go along with. Since I was buying into it long term, I also bought several pre-order copies for all their bonus's. (lost my target code before I could claim it, but otherwise I got em all)
my first two characters were the special races I got from all of that money.

and following behind was my Mirror Universe Lib Borg - she was flying with an old friend who had limited time to game.

they both hit 50 before getting to DS9, so once they there, they stayed there doing STF's whenever I popped back in to try the season launches and stuff.
but the game was rough at launch, and we only played until his sub ran out and started bouncing around other games. I still lurked the forums to keep up with things, and would play for a weak or so every 5-6 month's and to spend stipends on stuff that looked cool.
One of the things I've been begging for since launch were Romulans. and when Sim City Biffed it on their launch, I lurked over to see that Rommies were set to release here and I had to come back.
so I came back and made a Vulcan/Klingon half bread a month before LoR to get back into game shape.

got this character to 50 before DS9, started grinding her with the others.
and then when LoR hit - Blam! so did my Rommie Borg!

I deiced to take her to the klink side to check out how that had changed since launch, but all the new klink stuff was earlier missions then when rom's join up. I hit 50 with her fast, again long before she got to DS9 - so again she get's there, and start's repping - which I am also doing on the first three who are there.
but wait, at some point in the long before I had the foresight to spend stipends on extra character slot's, so I decided to make two klink characters to level at the same time, just leap frogging them.

both made it to DS9 on their missions tonight, and good news - Only level 35, so they have a reason to play through the cardie missions and beyond. - Woot Woot! - GG Cryptic.
