Random question about the Devs

Leaving aside all the issues I have problems with, I look back at them and honestly think "That's something no self-respecting dungeon master would do." -OR- "Any solid dungeon master would know better then to go within 100ft. of that!" Not because I'm all that much of a D&D fan, it's just a DMs (and D&D) have been doing what the devs do for decades on a small scale. There are many and multitude lessons about running a game to be learned from just a quick reading of almost any dungeon master guide.

So, just for my better understanding, I have to ask have any of the devs every DMed a 2nd, 3rd, 3.5, or 3.75 version of dungeons and dragons?

Edit: Something like Darths & Droids is a hilarious parody of all the pitfalls of running a game. Well worth the read for any aspiring dungeon master or just for a good laugh.

I wonder because it would be helpful to know if I'm talking to a pure business major who thinks of the game as just another product, a programer that maybe a D&D nerd but doesn't care beyond the source code, or someone that's neither and cares and loves the game.
