Please for everything of anything in this game, remove that ping ping ping ping ping sound on risa... its horrid.

    I like the new ambience. I hear "Pew pew Cryptic doesn't know how to program in C++ Pew pew pew pew. Bugs.. Bugs bugs pew pew."

    yeah the ambience is nice, but the ping ping or pew pew, omg crazy irritating. Found out it has to do with interface sound, so I turned it off.. which I shouldn't have to but.. oyyy only way to kill that horrible sound.

    yep somebody screwed up..
    it wont stop.. its very annoying.
    [12:35] Vessel Two of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 225232 (271723) Plasma Damage to you with Plasma Lance.

    A fleetmate told me its a new additional indicator that you succesfully have flown trough a waypoint in "flying high". Its highly annoying to be on Risa with that sound.
    yeah the ambience is nice, but the ping ping or pew pew, omg crazy irritating. Found out it has to do with interface sound, so I turned it off.. which I shouldn't have to but.. oyyy only way to kill that horrible sound.

    Even more annoying than that Starbase Defense dude that would never shut up even 2 hours after the event ended?

    Basically it's not only when YOU are flying through a gate, apparently it's when anyone in that zone flies through a gate. They should probably change the sound code, either to only be for that player, or make it's "Area of Effect" be very small.

    If it's a gate sound effect, then it's player for every player in the zone regardless of location. It's a Spock redux.

    Yeah when I read on Tribble that they were putting in the sound for going through a Fly High gate, I assumed it would play only for the person actually doing the activity, i.e. on the player's computer only... not everyone's in the zone!

    Hard to believe this was intentional, but come on... pushing it live like this anyway? And with a hideous annoying high pitched sound that grates and grates and grates and.... just terrible.

    If the sound is just for the player and only for passing the gates I think it might be actually a nice addition. The massive constant sound spam of it is what makes it so annoying.

    I was going to post something here..but why bother... I leave the game sound turned mostly off in the game any more anyway. there so many visual cues why bother other then for the first time you run into a new voice over

    So thats what that noise was. I thought it was the new music for Risa. I am so glad its "fixed". Course when I did Flying high today when I passed the gate I didnt get the beep but I heard every other one!

    It was never really fixed. We can hear the singularity charge up/down sound for warbirds around us, or the sound for a device activated when there is nothing to do with it (IE activating V scan without anything on the map). Usually it's not a real nuisance, but on Risa, it's a real problem.


    BTW, you can remove the pew pew sound by setting interface sound to 0. It's not the best solution, but it will do until the fix it. And it's either that, becoming crazy, or removing all sound from STO.
