...and by that i mean, have there been any updates on the Aquarius size problem?
also many people seem to claim that the oddy is a weak and bad ship, i disagree.
anyone wanna explain why a lot of people think of it that way?

Personally, I love my Odyssey. I'm a Fed tac and run mine engineering heavy, it seems to preform best that way. The aquarius scale issue kind of breaks immersion, but I'm okay with it because I actually get to see the detail on it. I was shocked when I noticed last night it had a replica tiny assimilated deflector dish just like the full size one on my Odyssey. Players may be misunderstanding the role of the ship, The tactical variant is great but you have to run it like a cruiser, not an escort, And me coming off a Steamrunner to this ship was a big shock. But I adjusted, and flew the ship the way it wanted to be flown, instead of forcing into something it wasn't.

FIX THE AQUARIUS BUG. PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEEEE :(:(:(

I did (until I bought my MVAM ship to temporarily replace it due to the aquarius bug) use my Odyssey, because it is the one ship that I have sooo much fun with. I call it (not the official name, mind you) Odyhomessy.
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

    I hope STO get's better ...

Oddy is terrible it's as bad as the overblown D'D on the rom side. It's turn rate is horrible, the defense is subpar for such a huge ship, and the very questionable abilities it has are hardly worth it.

I've tried it with multiple configurations and mutliple methods with both my engineer and tactical and both times it underperformed on everything so I switched back.

There are ships in this game right now that need some serious love from the Devs and the three fed ships that need it the most are the Oddy the Intrepid and the Defiant. All three of those have underperforming defense levels compared to their non-store non-fleet counterparts.

Bought the bundle about 2 weeks ago, totaly regret it.

Other ships just perform better and the aquarius bug was another let down,
but well, no use to cry over spilled milk right?

People will captain the ship they want to, son. It will get better when the devs understand this and stop fighting with the community on it. "Oh, I'll just limit myself to escorts and nothing else" isn't happening. So give that up.

    Also, the Odyssey sucks.

The Teamspeak conversation when my friend witnessed that for the first time:

"Wait, you can TRIBBLE out a little escort?"

"Yeah...it's not so little most of the time though..."

still using mainly my oddy, both borgs sets on a tac oddy, or the aegis set with plasmonic leech on a sci ddy are perfect for PvE. i love them and since they made the SET 3 so that the saucer now has gravity well 3 i can use that even when flying it as a tac..

my suggestions for the Oddy would be (as the ship it sef is perfectly fine and can handle a scimitar or other ships fine)

make the saucer actually follow you or attacking your target.. i cant tell how many times i tried finding my saucer when it was 25km away to help some other ship.. and i was there alone..

FIX THE DAMNED SIZE ISSUE with the aquarius.. its ridiculous

maybe give some options for the ships outfit meaning other skins or changable hulls, like all the other 3 sip sets do have.. the oddy would be even more nicer if a bit more customisable.

there were apparently complaints that it was too small. Personally, I don't care what size it is as long as they make it stay the same size rather then ballooning when launched

I love my Odyssey, too. Just got it on this last sale. The experience I've had so far with the ship is epic. This is one totally awesome ship! :D I look forward to many many days of exploring the universe with my Oddy. :)

Now, the Aquarius thing, yeah it was there and I knew it even before I decided to go for the ship. Honestly, it doesn't bother me that much, I let the Aquarius go and be on it's way so I don't focus on it's actual size. And I make much more use of the Chevron Separation anyway, so this bug is really not a game-breaking issue for me.

That said, I hope it gets fixed ASAP, because it looks quite ridiculous and it's size now is comparable to the saucer.

    personally i disagree.
i own almost all lvl 50 fed c-store, the fleet patrol escort, fleet star cruiser, fleet deep space science vessel, mobius destroyer and the jem'hadar dreadnought carrier and i can proudly say that the only one of those ships which is better than the oddy, is the fleet star cruiser

The fleet star cruiser is better than the Odyssey? You mean the engineering variant? Aside from stronger hull, what makes the fleet star cruiser better, because I'm not buying it.

While I like my oddy, lately I have been flying my Assault Cruiser Refit. I am an engineer, and really either ship works well for me. As an engineer I can generally get away with flying anything and making it viable. I really have no issue with the aquarius bug, not saying it shouldnt be fixed but it just doesnt bother me.

Side note: I dont like the fact the Riker maneuver console in the refit can only be used on the refit. :(

Abilities aren't terrible, but the cool downs are horrendous compared to console slot efficiency (meaning how often the console slot is actively helping you) example being bortasqu's teleport target ability has a 5 min cooldown even with the set. That means I have 1 shot or I'm toast. If I try to squeeze in a ch'tang console to make up for that cool-down I'm losing ever more console efficiency.

imo the fleet star cruiser is better than the engie oddy and the tac oddy.
what makes it better imo is the boff slots

    I have two Oddys.

One Tac and one Eng. I love both of them.

I do agree that the escort destroyer is oversized, I rather like the little one prior to LoR.

It would be nice for them to fix the size, but to me, its not a high priority. There are other fixes that need to made.. so I can wait.

I also have a Tac in a Tac Oddy and an Eng in an Eng Oddy, and I enjoy the heck out of them both. I'm really happy with my D'Diridex too, while I'm at it.

I haven't really been engaging in a lot of space combat since the summer event started, so I've been blissfully unaffected by the size bug, but yes it should be fixed ASAP.
You're right. The work here is very important.

The Odyssey was designed with old ideals in mind and the game has changed since it was introduced. Back then it was okay to average and it can still be a fun solo ship in its way. But honestly, in today's game a tank isn't needed for play in comparison to DPS and SCI make for better healers with more versatile abilities included to boot. It has become a ship with out a purpose for a role that other ships do so much better and kind of a handicap. Compare it to a Bortas TAC variant in today's game with its 4 ENG and 5 TAC consoles, DHC, disruptor cannon console, cloak, and power curve you'll quickly see the Ody simply it isn't in the same league for what you want a cruiser to do in actual play. A degree of nostalgia relating to the title "federation flagship" is all it had going for it along with one decent console in the SCI work bees. Too little maneuverability, too little tank, too little DPS to compete, no real place you can't find something better for.

Ok, better than the engineering Odyssey is a maybe and the Tac variant is a hell no, because of the boff slots? What? Line us all out, because the Tac has 2 universal stations, one being LT. Cmdr. The Tac Odyssey has slightly less armor than the fleet star cruiser, but it's better everywhere else.

I guess what I'm saying is the fleet star cruiser is lame is a huge way since it doesn't stand up to the Tac Odyssey.

its boff slots are alot more engie focused than the engie oddy which makes sense since its a cruiser so no the fleet star cruiser is WAY better for an engie than the other ships

I have great success with the oddy as a tac captain, while watching escorts with poor healing ability go poof all the time in ESTF's. There is nothing wrong with a tac captain choosing a cruiser for battle longevity.

Tac captain here in a Tac Odyssey.

When a Tac Odyssey equipped well it is a monster. On Elite STFs it has the chance to be the biggest DPS - even bigger than escorts... and has more chance to survive the encounters without blowing.

    My setup is:

    Full Romulan Singularity Harness set
Omega Adapter Borg tech 2/3 (module + kinetic cutting beam)
    Full assimilated borg technology set

    Romulan Plasma Beam Arrays mkXII

Overcharged Warp Core MKXII [SEP] [W->E] [SSS]

    3x Plasma Infuser MKXI (rare)

    plus other consoles.

With Beam Overload / Beam Fire at Will / A2B it is a very formidable ship in any PvE situation. It can destroy entire pack of enemies or it can solo cubes.

However I don't use the Aquarius escort because in my experience it is a little chaotic. Sometimes randomly attacks enemies - for example in Cure Found estf attacks the cubes before the nanites are destroyed. But if it is attacking my target lots of times destroyed by exploding enemies.

It was useful when I grinded reputation but after I had access / money to higher quality gear Aquarius module is not worth enough for me. There are lots of more useful consoles here - for example Embassy consoles. Aquarius should have some basic "pet commands" to be useful - but for me the console slot is too high for the price. With good consoles your DPS or your survivability will be much better after reputation grind.

Anyway, Tactical Odyssey is a good investment I think absolutely worth for 2500 Zen.

Than you should learn. Tactical captains in a properly fitted cruiser can be awesome. I'm not the best tac captain here, I'm not a truly hardcore gamer (more than casual but not ubergamer) and even I can be the best in eSTFs.
