Players who contribute their time and effort were told by Cryptic that they would get a unique reward for their trouble. Based on that I spent my time on Tribble, testing out the new system. I spent a lot more than an hour, too.
Now it seems that everyone is getting the no-longer-unique reward, regardless of whether or not they spent their time on Tribble.
Quite frankly, that sucks.
I was promised a unique reward, one that was to be special for the people that met the requirements. Pay up Cryptic. Give the players that spent their time a reward that is unique to them alone. Like you said you would. Show us that what you say actually has some meaning.
Also, as I know the question will come up, another reason why this reward is available to all players was due to the overwhelming demand to test Legacy of Romulus on Tribble -- some players ran into queues, and were not able to get on the server because of it, so we wanted to give this to everyone to thank you for your continued support of testing our new content on Tribble.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=
Since some people could not get on and were stuck in the queue even though they tried to for the Tribble Test Reward, then everyone gets it.
Actually I was wondering about that, cause I spent my hour on the Tribble for what ever reward [That was unannounced] That players were supposed to get. . So what's going on? They can't decide what award or what?
A lot of us tested before any reward was mentioned.
I leveled a Rom to 30+ in closed beta before the wipe. After the wipe I leveled a new one to 50 and tested as much high end content as possible.
I honestly don't care about the reward. The real reward is hopefully making the game better before it releases.
I so wish we could transplant this sort of attitude into players like the OP because then testing would actually be testing and not just being there to get a reward or see the new content early.
Well, when Season 7 had their tribble test weekend, I had personal business and couldn't attend- so I never got my Mol'rhian Tribble, even though I did a good deal of S7 testing apart from the 'test weekend'. This time around, I made the time, and played through about 5 levels of Romulan content.
I so wish we could transplant this sort of attitude into players like the OP because then testing would actually be testing and not just being there to get a reward or see the new content early.
What a shame for you that you can't transplant an attitude in to me. Still, wanting to transplant attitudes? Wow, that sounds so... humanitarian of you. I suppose you'd love to transplant attitudes in to vast tracts of people, too. You could make your own utopia.
I'm a big believer in doing what you say you're going to do. Anything else makes you out to be a liar. Cryptic promised players who did something a special unique reward and now they're not offering that special unique reward. That's a lie in my book. They weren't able to get everyone on the server? That's not my fault their servers get clogged so easily.
Quit whining about someone getting something. There are more important issues to be had in this game.

You got a reward for your time, because it is not "special" is irrelevant. Actually I say don't beta test next time and that will actually free up some space in the queue. That will make room for those of us that actually do testing and send in bug reports. I don't ever do it for something "special". If they choose to reward me then fine.
And why wouldn't you be angry that the least useful tribble yet is available to all rather than a select few?
Thanks for the expansion that had "as much content as the last"
9 Episodes = 30+ episodes...?

It's pronounced "S.T.O." "Stow" sounds idiotic! lol
Let's see...you got the icecream you were promised and you'Re whining because someone totally different also got one...something that so absolutely does not affect you...that you're now throwing a tauntrum because of it.
You could just say it's nice Cryptic is generous they're giving free icecream to everyone but noooo.....that means you're no loner special.
I was invited to the test...and I find that was enough of a reward in itself.
I got to see the missions early and test them and so did you. In theory that should be enough of a reward. But appearently you prefer to call people who give stuff away for free "liars" just because they got the same as you...aside from the chance to try out content early.
It would be nice if those of us who tested in closed and open beta and leveled up a Romulan character twice while submitting bug reports got some unique rewards, like perhaps a Romulan shuttle pet or even, dare I say, a Romulan BOFF. However, I never expected anything more than a tribble (which is the most common testing reward) and, as I do not suffer from a entitlement complex, the reward of seeing the content first was all that I ever expected.
Calm down. Its a tribble that knocks out a nakura mark. its hardly worth getting upset over.
they had queue issues. some people could not physically get in to test. they gave it to everyone. thats a nice gesture. im sorry you dont get that and feel the need to throw a tantrum.
I tested during the weekend. I got my tribble now and I'm happy. I don't care that people who didn't test got a reward because that doesn't effect me. I'm not going to rage because I'm not able to get rep marks 1 mark an hour faster than the next guy. The real failure is some people only tested the new content because they were being bribed to and not because they in any way wanted to make the game better for the community.
yes alot of us myself included do this to test the build to try to get bugs fixed over the reward
but i go with the cryptics word to the players that took OUR time to test to give us a little token of thanks . its for us , how would everyone like it if anyone that buys zen gets LTS awards ? LTS wouldnt be happy , which is why the testers arent happy .its not the item its the meaning behind it .
that spirit is broken if EVERYONE gets it , there are alot of players that dont test or care to test anything . so to me they shouldnt get it at all , im sorry for the ppl that had issues logging on for the test , file a ticket and support should handle those case for the reward . those ppl should be handled on a individual basis. Too lazy to submit a ticket at the time oh WELL. STBY

You should be happy for everyone who had to suffer through the long ques for as much time as you got to enjoy the preview version of LOR. Pretty selfish that you and others who had the privilege of testing it out should only get it for yourselves. I'm 100% with the devs on this one, and it goes to show that people will whine about anything. This is a new low for the forums, absolutely pathetic.

People suffered for hours and hours because of long ques and connections. They don't deserve something either?
Meh, considering the quality of the tribble, as a collector item primarily, whether it's unique or not, isn't the problem here for me. Nevermind the fact I had only one time, that I was in a long que line, so I count myself lucky.
My question is, does this open up the possibility to garner previous, missed Tribble rewards, have a chance of coming back. Not certain if the IDIC tribble was a part of the reward series for testing, but I know I missed out on that one, and would like to see a shot at collecting that one. I imagine there are other rare tribbles that others missed out on, that would like a shot at collecting them.
Just wonder what kind of pandora's box, this precedent now sets, in the near, and far flung future of tribble collecting.
What they deserve is for Cryptic to spend some of the money they're making with LoR to fix the servers.
What happens next time the servers are not coping? Are they going to give Borg BOffs to everyone, including the F2P players??
Maybe because of posts like this, they'll just stop giving rewards altogether. It seems like this was the only reason you went to the test server in the first place.
Maybe if they did get rid of the people who are only there for the rewards, the people who do the testing will actually be listened to when given feedback instead of ignored so they can push the content out.

Honestly don't understand the whiners. The Tribble Test Weekend award has always been a tribble. What did you expect?
For those that put in more than an hour, I can understand hoping to get some extra goodies like we did with the testing of the DOff system. However, considering that nothing was offered in advance, I don't see how you would actually expect to get such awards.

Just testing for the tribble is a bit shallow. I spent about 10 hours on tribble seeing if things were broken. One of the items I was going to retest that I didn't get to is actually still broken. If you run the romulan mission where you pick which faction to join you get stuck with a costume item that you can't open and can't delete.

So much for rewarding that effort...
