Vulcans.
The second most important race in the Federation.
Spock, T'Pol, Tuvok, Surak..
They are the race that made Star Trek back in TOS with Spock.
What do they get? A pathetic Dkyr without a special console but some support craft and not even a Vice Admiral ship.
Cryptic has the rights of all the Star Trek series. Therefore they have the ability to include some of the other ships we saw in the series. Like the following ship.
The Suurok Class.

Science vessel and/or combat cruiser.
Just to let Cryptic know, I will buy this ship the minute it comes out, as long as it's a Vice Admiral Tier V ship with a nice console and exact same looks. That's not much to ask for considering there are tons of ships that fulfill these requirements.
Thank you for reading.
Live long and prosper.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

while it was used as a freighter in the shows, I think there could be a science/explorer version...at least the Apollo class was.
Just like the Olympic was used as a dedicated medical ship yet became a science ship in STO.
cause sometimes its party time!
Those look terrible, the Enterprise versions looks much nicer
Honest question: in what way do they look terrible...do you mean the shape which can be made a bit smoother with a computer model than one scratchbuilt from hand, or the surface details? Because that's what I metioned the idea to modernize it. The oringinal Romulan Bird of Prey model from Balance of Terror also looked a lot less detailed than its STO counterpart.
Also, when you look at other studio models without added special effects...they don't look like much either.:)

perhaps this could be used as a basis for a decent 2409 refit.
Well, to me it still looks hideous. I always thought it was hideous, since the first time I saw this ship long time ago.
If there are new Vulcan ships to be added (which I'd love btw), it's better if they are from the D'kyr era. The ships made in ENT, due to superior graphics technology and visual effects often look more modern and belonging in the 25-th century than some of the TNG ones and especially TOS ones. The T'Varo is a perfect example for this - chronologically it's older than the T'liss, but we have it at Tier 5 because it completely looks from this time and fits the rest of the Romulan fleet perfectly.
There are many design ideas about Vulcan ships out there on the net, but the ones I like
most are usually based on the design of the D'kyr and Surak classes. One thing I'd like to have as an option is using the standard Federation hull material on those ships, so they look like they belong to Starfleet, just not following on the basic Human design.
I'd love to see a Surak class Vulcan crusier anyway.
Since we aren't anywhere near the year that it's commissioned, maybe just something sort of close to it to show a progression of development leading up to it. Maybe smaller too, it looks freakin' huge.

Well, I think we'll need to agree to disagree on this particular ship.:)
On the one hand I absolutely agree on the T'varo, which is a T'liss in basic design but with more advanced (typical 24th century) features and details.
On the other hand however the T'Pau type, while lacking in details in its current incarnation, has an overall design that is actually quite different.
While the "warp rings" on the 22nd century ships always look delicate and somewhat sensitive, the warp drive on the T'Pau type is closer to the hull and almost looks like an additional layer of armor surrounding the engieering section.
I think it's a (no pun intended) logical progression of the design that makes the engines less endangered when the ship gets into a firefight.
So while the 22nd century ships are more advanced in detail, I actually think the T'Pau is more advanced in its actual design. Yes I know it sounds strange but that's how I feel about them.
Where did it say the next Andorian ship is gonna be a broadsider? I hope not because *broadsiders* are a stupid idea.
I think we can safely say this poster is a member of the "Jet Fighters ONLY in STO" fan club.
Broadsiding in a "ship" battle is as old a tactic as fighting with ships is. It's NOT a stupid idea as it works quite well. You have more room for weapons along the length of a ship than you do mounting all the weapons in the small facing at the front of a ship.
Besides, having more ship options available to players in STO is ALWAYS a good thing...unless all of those options are limited to "jet fighters" only.
Romulans get "Vulcan Brown" after all.
I don't think that's "Vulcan Brown"...it's the brown the other Romulan ship (the unnamed sister ship of the Valdore) that helped the Enterprise in "Nemesis" had.
Which was Vulcan brown.
Only if the Vulcans have a monopoly on evrey brown tone in the Star Trek universe.
Even the most brownish Vulcan ships were a lot more reddish tones than either the ship from "Nemesis" or the brown tone avilable in STO.:)
Check out the screencaps from "Nemesis" if you think I'm trolling you:

Maybe a similar BOFF/Console Layout like the D'Kora, i just hate the fact that CRYPTIC made a Ferengi (!) ship so effective, while making Starfleet Cruisers so boring and passive.
I think it would be cool if that ship would feature something like a heavy Beam array, a DHC with the looks of a DBB.
I thought cruisers were already the broadsiders.
Bet it'd come with a side firing torpedo launcher.
If I had the spare zen, I would still buy the Dkyr for collection sake and as a 'cruise boat'. But I would sure love to have a tac vulcan cruiser at least as comparable to the Kunari line of ships. a 5k zen 3-pack would rock.
Make it Cryptic and watch that line of players forming at the register!
P.S.: Please, if it ever happens, make sure there is at least a specific bridge to it
