plz let us use the jet packs from Risa in all social zones. (Qo'nos, ESD, DS9, memory alpha, starfleet academy, Drozana station, New Romulus etc.)
tons of fun to be had.
ps. not in missions for obvious reasons
THE NEW CRAFTING SYSTEM IS TERRA-BAD First of all it's not even a crafting system! It's just a dumb game system that's nothing more than a glorified slots machine.
second the "special items" you hope will be the saving the saving grace are messed up to.
that would require redesigning every one of those maps
long story short , it'll not happen
no it can happen. most of these zones are closed f you can wander to far you would just hit the ceiling. Its new Romulus Qo'nos and starfleet academy that worry me the most. still a bit gimmicky flying into a invisible wall at the edge is a defect i am willing to live whit.
EDIT: i like to get to the DS9 promenade without using the elevator.

You're obviously not much of a jumper/climber. I've found many broken bits of map when you start getting to places developers haven't intended.
ESD would be an actual nightmare. The ceiling isn't actually solid, as anyone who knows how to get outside will testify to. Trying to climb around on top of ESD and you end up falling through the ceiling (which is see-through in many places from the outside) back into the interior.
Long story short: Things that look closed, probably aren't. It just looks that way from your perspective - just because you look up and see a ceiling, doesn't mean the map is actually physically blocked off!
TLDR: This won't happen without a redesign of said maps.

i am a climber but i don't climb ESD though i did try at places like in New Romulus etc. i don't expect to find a secret in ESD i do in adventure zones.
but if true (and i do believe you) those zones need redesigning anyway.

Yes , because starfleet will be fine with people flying jetpacks round their starbase interiors ...
The jetpack/ floaters may make an appearance in another mission later along the line , but the fact the the special risa map had to be designed specifically for them speaks volumes about their availability for other zones .
you want jetpacks everywhere , go try out firefall

i never said that the other zones had to be functional. flying a jetpack in DS9 or ESD is just showing off as long as you can't fly through the ceiling not much can go wrong either. apparently you can go though the ceiling by just jumping/climbing so those zones would need redesigning just to fix that! they could make them jetpack friendly while they are at it......
as i said open zones like Qo'nos, starfleet academy and new Romulus worry me more than the space stations. but they have a greater potential for jetpacks to be usable.
ps. even if you don't like it when most of your personal owns jetpacks odds are that some are going to be naughty and use them anyway.....

As enjoyable as the balloon guns and fire extinguishers are for everyone around you, no doubt.
i love those balloons

Only way floaters would work on other social areas is if it has no vertical movement. So it would end up as a better version of the frosted boots. Might be just as fast, but far more control.

i could live whit that.
though a limited availability could also do the trick i think. if you could fly (or have jet pack assisted jump) just high enough to reach the promenade at DS9 or the balconies at ESD than you would have probably gotten everything out of it without redesigning the entire zone.

Speaking of retrofitting: Yesterday I again noticed some annoying thing. The boxes in klingon starbase incursions seem to be a tiny bit larger than the boxes in federation starbase incursions. Thus tactics to deal with (jump to that precise position to get a sniper shot at) targets which I can do in my sleep on the fed side are not possible as a klingon, making it a 'bit' more difficult. Assuming the difference in difficulty is not intended would it be too much to ask for a tiny decrease in gravity on that map to allow for the usual box jumping?
good point well made but we need some form of transport (not flying but ground based) for Nimbus III, i know we can beam back but getting there specially if we gotta travel all way over to the satellite beacons can be a a bane
Ugh, no thanks... its obnoxious enough with all the troll-toys Cryptic keeps tossing into the game. Fire extinguishers, balloon guns, horgan statues (not as annoying), Birds! Birds everywhere! Ice skating boots which as strangely useable outside of Q's snowbox...
I think they should just add more places that need the use of the Floaters, like adding them to the mining suits, or make up some missions that require the use of the floaters.
while all true and valid points most of it can avoided by limiting the height of flight. adding a couple of invisible walls (though immersion breaking it probably best for performance). the rest is adding some roofs and increasing the height of the false facades. (tall buildings, high mountains)
that will do for a quick fix. reworking them to be functional can always be done later.
though i can understand cryptic doesn't want to divert resources to it, though if some time was found to do this it would be great.

Perhaps a few maps could be updated over time to work? I think it would be especially fun to be able to fly on the outside asteroid maps.
