Sehlats are...

I suspect this is just a writer's error, but I noticed in Vulcan Admiral T'nae wrap-up speech for the mission "Cutting the Cord", that she says the following about cornered Romulans:
"Like wounded Sehlat cats they will strike out..."

Are Sehlats actually feline, somehow? I'd always seen the parallel the Lady Amanda had drawn, referring to them as oversized teddy bears.

I'm wondering if the the line should not reference the le-matya instead, which TAS portrayed as a green predatory cat, albeit with something of a reptilian, patterned leathery hide.

in Apocrypha they state that Sehlat's are an Urso/feline species, in previous iterations (TAS and Enterprise) they are depicted as a more bear/lion hybrid with large fangs, whereas in STO they went more for a saber toothed lion look, much more feline.

ah, I see. So the "urso-feline" description comes from a book considered non-canon as opposed to the main canon references which, at least at the wiki, appear to only reference the bear aspect.
