To be fair, the salt vampires ARE annoying to fight since they can chain-confuse you and such. There's not a whole lot you can do about it when they do that, because there's no immunity period, and resists only go so far. Though the only real 'difficult' part of that mission is the 2nd part, where you are defending the buildings. Mostly because of the sheer numbers, not so much the actual difficulty.

Anyways, putting that aside, most of Boot Camp has been focused on space so if they didn't go to the ground one at all they just might not know more ground stuff compared to space, and besides, sometimes you just get unlucky with how the NPC enemies end up being.

But to finish up: I was just making a joke Zeux.

When's the next one? So far, they've all conflicted with real life events for me.

The next session is for the 20th July - click here.

Boot Camp completely understands and respects that not all students can attend these sessions or that due to RL, they miss some of them. Fear not!

We run make-up sessions nearly all the time, so it there are some that you have missed and would like to do them, please just send myself a mail, or you can message @Kolln who coordinates all these Registration & Attendance issues.

The bottom line is we are accommodating and no-one should ever feel that they are missing out.

I have good faith that the developers ARE focused on pvp, but when you are aiming to fix something so integral to gameplay and endgame, quick-fix solutions or duck-taping legacy issues never work.

If something is being done, it will be rigorous and painstaking, and guaranteed thorough.

Looking at the quality of the game since launch - which is mind-blowing I might add, I believe Cryptic are very much up to the challenge.

Its going to take time. But, there is a lot to do ingame between now and then, so I am excited and not at all worried.

Hell its the biggest update I am excited about!!!

As a community we cannot change the basic requirements necessary for development milestones to be reached any sooner. Its just unrealistic and not how development occurs.

What we have 100% control over is our attitude towards it and the support we give these developers. We control the climate under which these humans come to work. Well part of it anyway.

They are people after all. Why not lend them our support, and encouragement? Folks who feel encouraged and supported tend to feel engaged with and, in my experience, are prone to going out of them way in dealing with issues.

The ball's really in our court. Been there for a while...

    Nice saying Drk! :)

Yes to change something in PvP now is in our hands. We are not just here to teach the players how to combine 2 or more skills, and which ship or weapon or anything else is better for what purpose.

We are HERE to put the players into a great community, regardless if they are good or beginner players. Boot Camp's purpose to teach everyone to help anyone.

Those, who have already finished the first round of BC, already know how to play, this does not mean that they are as good as old players. This means they have the knowledge to make themselves better and their ships, too. :D

So do not expect from the graduate that they will be suddenly like other good players, they still need time to understand how it is working (I mean skills, builds etc.).

    Will see you in queues!

i really wish i could have that attitude, ive just been let down too many times by them.

theyve released too many half baked ideas, too many things without testing (some even without basic testing. the shield distro/jem shield comes to mind). sure they've fixed a lot of stuff too over time, but they add more then they fix.

i remember about a year ago, the community was in great support of them, until they let us all down again and again and again.

and then gozer left, and with him was any hope that pvp might actually be improved and considered with future content releases.

im still waiting for their inclusion of pvp related maps/modes involving the starbase, but i wont hold my breath.

over the past 3 years, they could have easily thrown us a bone or 2 (not just fixes that some times required massive bannings/issues on the forums to draw their attention to). but no.

    nothing.

i personally dont consider stuff being added for pve and only pve in mind being considered pvp because with them, as history has shown, it usually screws it up in some way.

    so yeah.

when they actually do something with pvp, ill be back and willing to help out with the boot camp.

until then, why should i waste my time to sell their game when they wont even throw us a bone?

We need a new Gozer. A new PvP Overlord. Only then is a lot of the current ill feeling going to go away. Does anyone remember what it was like when he was around? The PVP forums were FULL of the most positive, productive, useful threads imaginable. Gozer would ask us about a specific mechanic, people went away tested it and then came back to him. He kept us updated weekly and told us up front some of the changes would be drastic. But people were told and that felt good. It was progress.

He/she doesn't need to be the most experienced mod on the block, but needs to have the staying power our previous knights in shineing armour have lacked. And, has PvP MMO experience.

    Hi Smokeybacon,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

On behalf of Boot Camp please accept my apologies, as this adverts was inadvertently miscommunicated merely out of enthusiasm.

We are working to resolve this as speedily as we can!

Regulus is a PvP Evangelist, and I am not ashamed to say I am very proud of his efforts for Boot Camp and to stand by his side.

    That's not a pvp overlord.

A pvp overlord is dedicated only to pvp an pvp related content etc etc.

Gozer was that, an shorty after he left the dshtal said someone had taken his place but we never heard from that guy. Ever. As in ever. They never told us who it is either so we don't even know if this guy/girl/thing exists.

That was over a year ago, and even then several promises for pvp was made then completely forgotten/ignored/told we misheard and boom! We're still where we were about 2-3years ago content wise. Sure, they added actual rewards to pvp, then put all kinds of restrictions on what you have to do to get them then they add several new currencies with NO way to earn in pvp, or even have an equal compared to pve.

Yes I know pve is their main focus, but like I said, how freaking hard is it to throw us a bone?

Remember them features episodes? Yeah, a couple pvp maps were said to be coming out of that. NOTHING.

Even though they'd have probably been ground maps (since they seem to hate space maps)....

    But anywho...
