Well, I was'n't playing pvp for several weeks... today I started again and what I see is only carrier/cruiser, cloacking/decloacking, pet spam and BFaW (with beam overpowered by new doffs)...
If this is the stop idea about pvp, I do not wonder if people do not play pvp.

Playing STO spamming FAW is like playing chess using always the computer's suggested moves
PvP has lots of work to be done, to be well balanced.
- Skills need controls, Nerfs and buffs
- End game items are vastly to over powering for level 51 XI-XII standard items
- Zen Bough ships are to powerful, and basically make the game Pay to win.
Solutions
- Stop skill spam
- Balance skills
- Balance all items down to equal level of output. only difference betwee set and non, should be the bonus's
- Balance ships max tank, Dps outputs to similar levels (not 8000 dps in a zen store ship, and 3000 in another)

I saw a Cruiser in Ker'rat yesterday. There was somebody complaining about being left alone so he could farm with the Borg. So I just had to go kill...er...find him. He was in a Cruiser.
Lol, actually - there was another Cruiser in there. Vang was zipping around and experiencing the joy of EPtE...wheeeeeee!
I was in a match last night, the other team had 4, yes you saw that right, 4 cruisers.
Somegood tanking and all of them were using high specced feedback pulse. That was um, interesting lol.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
I think he is talking about the BO DOFF which can then allow all hits to do more bleedthrough.
AKA the ultimate decloak alpha doff (double or triple BO with DEM1 followed by CRF). There was a thread in the general section of the forums where a dev posted that this doff was created to specifically help cruisers running beam arrays....here, I'll go dig it up...
If devs are this out of touch with how their own game works is there really any hope of them fixing the OP items in the game to bring about a balanced PvP experience?

Pretty much. I mean, helping cruisers is all well and good, I'm all for it. And they release DOFFs that help cruisers...in theory.
Marion helps reduce the power drain of all energy weapons when using DEM, but only for 8 seconds, and also basically makes a mockery of Nadeon from engies. This BO DOFF can allow more bleedthrough on weapons when you use BO.
In theory, that is good for cruisers. In practice...not so much.
Like if Marion was really meant to help out cruisers, they would instead have it so that the drain was lessened, but spread out across a longer amount of DEM. So that way you would gain a more longer term effect. While the BO DOFF, all they need to do on that is just change it so that you have to use FAW, and problem solved.

Besides, as is the case with most things - c'mon, it's a crutch to expand the playerbase to more players.
Outside of a physical disability...there are some folks that can't tie shoelaces, so they use velcro. Velcro is too much for some, so they wear slipons. That's too much for some, so they use flipflops. Even flipflops are too much for some. Eventually you reach the average intended player for STO. /cough
So, I bought a new Purple BO bleedthrough doff and the New Purple TT Doff that adds (acc). I equipped one of each and Marion and 2 Tech's. I run a beam boat Aux2Batt cruiser and run the Nukera Console that Buffs beam acc also. Wep power 125 (when attacking) plus Tychokentic converter and Zero point and Borg console and subspace jumper. When a pest BOP attempts a suprise decloak alpha on me I hit the jumper and then BO his face. Some pop (if I can gett all that acc to overflow to crit). Some dont. Is it an "i win" button? Not even close. Does it give cruisers some teeth to bite back with? Yes. Game breaking? Nope. To quote Spock "Just a little sauce for the goose" is all.
Now in about 3 hours I will have tier 5 Nukera unlocked. I plan on using an Aux to Wep Overcharge warp core and with the passive will will be adding even more power to Wep from Aux. I already have the Web mines and the Nukera console I just need the Nukera Dual Beam Bank. I bought 6 ACC2/DMG2 Tetryon Fleet Beam arrays (I will miss sprial wave disruptors) for the 3 piece set bonus boost to Tetryon damage and it gives the ability for FAW and BO to hit multiple/additional targets. I cant wait to see how this set and new passive works out.
Plenty of folks fly cruisers in Ker'rat. On the Federation side, most of the ships I tend to see are cruisers or carriers, either Fed-specific or lockbox. Escorts are present as well, and folks seem to like using Romulan BoPs to emulate KDF BoP tactics, despite probably whining and moaning about said tactics before LoR.

I know right?
And usually they haven't even been all that great. Most of the time, Romulan BoPs who are actually good are usually ones who were used to flying a Defiant or BoP anyways. I see lots of people running with low aux (because I can see them at a rather decent distance), and/or with no spec into stealth, along with sometimes having a high-level singularity charge, which makes them a more obvious target.
There ARE good pilots in them, more that a lot are seeking to give a bit of 'revenge', but don't actually know how to fly them and use them effectively.

yes... and do not forget you can stack a BO3 and a BO2, use DEM...
the result is that beam weapons are now very powerfull: a lot of damage (even much more than DHCs) and a much more better firing arc.
And using the nukara set if I am right, the nukara DBB can hit more more targets at one even using one BO.
I have nothing against carriers, but actually my opinion is that ships that are supposed to be support ones (or at least not the best damage dealer) are also the best damage dealer and pvp is being a "carriers only" pvp.
Moreover the new consoles will help a lot this ship (imagine a 4 fleet neutronium alloy with [turn]) much more than tha natively faster and agiler ships.

I can't identify all ships, so I suppose some ships are cruiser... However, only "big size" ships...

Yeah, I thought the Refugee EWO DOFF was for BO...not FAW.

Exactly. It's not rocket science here.
