While I understand that Cryptic is a F2P/P2W Hybrid and thats eh... not good but I can live with it. What I have a main issue with is how much things cost in the game. Now, I understand that you can refine dilithium and make that into Zen however, the conversion rate for that is just... well ****.
I've also noticed that Cryptic seem to have a lack of sales on ships and other items in the Zen store. They do these 20% Extra Zen promotions occasionally and occasionally bring down the prices of keys to try and encourage people to open lockboxes. But I haven't seen an actual sale on vessels in the C-Store for a fair old while.
Also, what happened to the good ol' Double XP Weekends that we all used to be so fond of. There has not been one for ages.
If these are supposed to be "Microtransactions", then why are Cryptic charging so much for C-Store ships with very half-baked custom interiors and no access to the rest of the ship? Surely, quality control are missing what should constitute a transaction with the amount of money that they are making.
I am also curious as to what Cryptic are actually doing with all this money they make. There are many things in the game that don't "force" you so much as heavily "imply" that you should spend money so some people do out of convenience. However I certainly would not say that the latest LoR expansion was worth the amount of money that the entire playerbase put into the game so the money cannot be going back into the game.
If it was, we would see considerable development above what we got out of LoR (Look at how many people bought the Legacy Pack). I understand that Cryptic is a company and some of the money goes on human resources, officer equipment and wages for manpower but the quality of the game just doesn't match up how much money we all put into the game.
I will be interested this year to see how much profit Cryptic has made because I think Stahl must be getting a colossal paycheck considering on what we've seen in the game so far. It wouldn't hurt to have a little more quality control boys...
I could live with the game if there was more "bang" for my "buck". Not only in the items that we buy but also in game development themselves.
True but when was the last actual C-Store Sale, I haven't seen one of them since before F2P? Ah and I must have missed that bonus mark weekend, thank you for showing me they still do them.
we had a c store sale a couple months ago, everything was 20% off..
also zen was just on sale for 15% off.. and keys were also just on sale..

About the conversion rate of Dilithium to Zen, I'm pretty sure that's a player controlled market.
If I want 120 Dilithium for my Zen I simply won't sell it at 110 or 115. Since everyone needs Dilithium at the moment the price is low.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
However I certainly would not say that the latest LoR expansion was worth the amount of money that the entire playerbase put into the game so the money cannot be going back into the game.
I'm curious. How do you know how much money the playerbase has put into the game, how much the developement of LoR cost and how much of their profit was reinvested back into the game?
That bonus mark weekend didn't even work right. There were a ton of complaints from players not getting any bonus marks at all. I didn't even get any bonus marks myself except during the normal 3 hour bonus event in the event rotation.

The last bonus weekend was about 2 weeks ago...

Bonus Marks are much more useful then Bonus XP when you're at Level Cap. You can only retrain your BO Skills so many times with XP...
There was also a Fleet Module special the same weekend...

http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=747521&page=4 Starting here on page 4 about the event, post #40. Look through the rest of the pages and you will see a lot of complaints that the event wasn't working. Though some claimed it was.
Next time you mention a recent event like that, make sure it worked properly. Otherwise it don't count.
