A question regarding future expiations

Will there be a season 8 for STO, or will it jump to season 9? After inadvertently starting a discussion on TTS it got me wondering "What the heck is LoR?". Any clarification is appreciated.

    Dan explained it in an interview, LOR was also Season 8, next Season is season 9.
