Is there a Dev Design theory other than "Make it Effin huge"?

What does the devs design theory have to do with anything? The Scimitar is canonicly a big ship.

    Of course there is.

    1. Make it Effin huge.

    2. Make it OP.

See? There's actually two design decisions involved here.

    :P

The Scimitar as about 1/3 the size of a Borg Cube - so why are you claiming it's too big in game?

900 long by 1500 meters wide

    Borg cube is 2000x2000

The main hull without the wings will probably be twice the size of a galaxy class in sector space and just add more huge ships around ESD to get stuck on when you just want to dock. Comparing it to a Soverign class will most likely show it is not built to the correct proportion since everyone who watched Nemisis got to see the 2 class ships get up close and personal.

I wish they would make the weapons for ground more realistic in size. This isnt Anime or wow where a sword needs to be 10 feet long and 3 fet wide.

I am quite aware of the size of the Scimitar. It just seems as if every single ship that gets put in the game as of late is stupidly huge.

What do you want them to do about it? If they made it smaller, everyone would be screeching like a pack of howler monkeys about how it's not canon.

The incoming Scimitar class are twice as wide as the current D'deridex class - wing tip to wing tip. They are close in length bow to stern.

Now compare those to a ship reportedly at 2miles long with a 0.0000000001 turn rate.

    Yeah, I thought so. ;)

We Romulans are living LARGE BABY! Size is POWER and INTIMIDATION...just like caps are! ;)

We never do anything "small"...well except singularities. ;)

Not Cryptic's fault Romulans design their ships like men in a mid life crisis. :D

the difference in volume is still astronomical. the scim is not 1 3rd the size, more like 1/100

We have really small singularities whereas the two main factions have to keep building bigger and bigger warp cores! ;P

That's the weird thing about Star Trek. More often than not, the protagonists ship was larger than the monster of the weeks. Particularly with TNG and TOS. It's one of the things that made it unique among the greater sci-fi sky.

However, now it's the big bad and their huge super-weapon (that is absolutely not overcompensating for anything what-so-ever) and our little underdog heroes out to stop them.... YAAAAAAAAAWN.

    Laaaame.

There was a recent scientific study done to find out if when women say size doesn't matter - if that is BS or true.

The results of the study showed 100% women were more attracted to men with larger equipment. Pictures and other things were used and rating we taken - both visual and electrical as well as responses to the pictures - all found that as equipment size increased up to a certain point - so did womens interest. Even with a picture of the same guy only increasing the size of his equipment produced noticible changes in visual q's and responses.

So if a women ever says that size does not matter - most likely she is LYING!!

Make those Ships BIGGER!! maybe we will have more women playing STO!!

That's called love, or more likely, she is just interested by your money.

Back to the topic, the Scimitar was a very expected ship. You can't make a Romulan faction without it. So yes, it's a big ship. Nothing they can do about it.

In that case she's still interested in size...it's just the size of your wallet and not your equipment. :P

I suppose if Cryptic added in the spherical ships of the First Federation, you'd complain that was too large too.
