Suiban Cell ship

darramouss1darramouss1 Member Posts: 1,811 Arc User
Wow, this ship is pretty sweet. It has everything the Tuffli has AND it has crafting and the DOFF grinder. I'm also intrigued about the Suliban Survivor DOFF missions. They appear to give a DOFF as a reward but take 5 days to do. For such a long mission time I'm seriously hoping they're good DOFFs!!

I've found that I can't change to any other ships from the Suliban bridge like I can from the Tuffli. Is this an error? I thought we were supposed to be able to do that on the Suliban bridge? Any one else able/unable to do this?

    From the dev blog:
Note: You can switch to your Suliban Cell Ship from any ship interior. Once you're done using it, switch back to any ship from the Suliban Cell Ship interior.

So, either its some super secret way, or its a bug.

The ship changer is there but when you use it there are no ships listed apart from the Suliban ship itself.

The ship changer was confirmed last night via BranFlakes on Twitter to be a bug that will be patched in a future release. Something else to note, is that the Suliban ship does not have a "Call Security Transport" function.

Well, it would be nice if he also posted it someplace int he offical forums for those of us old timers who don't plug in twitter and facebook like they are IV lines.

Sorry, more than a little pissed off how everything is on twitter these days.

Agreed. I don't like twitter, nor will I use it. The official website should be the primary source of information, not various other sources.

Ehh, I'd rather have the team be aware of it and have it be acknowledged, than have my bug report go out into the ether and potentially never be responded to. Different strokes/different folks, etc.

Additionally, it appears that the 5-day Tau Dewa Aid missions that come from the Suliban console cannot be canceled, so be aware of that when queue'ing one up.

The Tuffli DOES have a crafting station.

Also, the devs have said that the Suliban ship is supposed to be 'on par' with the Tuffli, not hands down superior. So it does not have the 'call security transport' feature.

at $130 million now - no thanks - need to get that priced down.

When they offered the Tuffli in the same pack with the Jem bug - I got 1 for around $20 mill

even tuffli is at $95 now

Well... that sucks. Especially since the Tuffli was on sale last night for 79mil. I'd trade the convenience of the security transport for the doff grinder any day of the week...

I think it's all going to come down to how good the Suliban Survivor DOFF mission is.

Here's the thread that it was confirmed that the Suliban ship would have a replacement feature for the security freighter call.
No, Yes, No. It does have replacement features for both of those things it does not have, however.

    Here's the exact post.

Unless they are claiming that the Suliban DOff contact is a replacement for the Trader NPC AND the security freighter call then that post was incorrect.

Personally I think they should just add a security officer onboard.

I think we need to wait 5 days until the first Suliban Survivor DOFF missions are done so we can see the rewards. They may be well worth those two other features.

How I read it was this:

Tuffli gets Security Transport, Suliban gets Doff Grinder.
Tuffli gets Trader officer, Suliban gets 5-day Doff Assignment.
Turn out, Suliban also gets a Trader.

With that said, I still would go back for a Tuffli though, I use the security transport infinitely more than I do the doff grinder. Ahh well, hopefully the 5-day doff mission will yield some good rewards!

The dev post seems pretty clear to me. (Emphasis is mine)
The Cell Ship has all but two features of the Tuffli. The two missing features are Call Security Transport and the Trader contact for trade assignments. These are replaced by onboard access to the Duty Officer Reassignment missions, and by a new Suliban Survivor contact who provides unique Duty Officer assignments which let you rescue new Duty Officers from specific Departments.

We wanted this ship to be on par with the Tuffli, not universally better. I'm really happy with the new features on the Cell Ship, but I'm a bit biased. :P

If those reassignment missions are still the - well lets just say VERY high dilithium costs - to upgrade doffs - what is the point - you could just go to the academy if you are silly enough to do this randon upgrade vs upgrading through doff exchange missions around DS9

Just discovered the Suliban doff grinder only grinds down "Civilians/Lieutenants," thereby making it quite useless.

Am I misunderstanding you or are you saying the Suliban get's a Trader aswell? If so that's awesome.

To the other people who said that they took the security transport and gave the DOff grinder, I had forgotten about the DOff grinder entirely. My apologies.

If it is true that the DOff grinder only works with limited personnel that is definitely unfortunate and will hinder it's usage.

I am very curious to see what all the ship has, I wonder when the wiki will have some screenshots of the ship interior and such up.

Has anyone in this thread used the unique Suliban DOff contact yet? If so can you please explain how that works and what all it entails?

Tuffli was 120-140 in the past two weeks, hold on the price will drop as people off load it. Thing is after the suliban ship is off the market even the tuffli will go back up. I am not sure if we will get another change to buy the ole girl.
