Footwear options!

sicjebsicjeb Member Posts: 0 Arc User
With the advent of the summer event (which is fantastic), is there any chance of giving non Orion characters sandals or even allowing them to go barefoot?
I created a nice little 'beach outfit' with the TOS mirror options, but even using Seven of Nine short heels, I can't get the footwear quite right.
And lets face it, all the vanilla boots are damn right ugly for a lovely female character.

Or even a nice pair of ballet flats wouldn't go amiss. :P

You could always roll a Gorn...

But yeah, Combat boots and beaches do not mix. I would hope that flip-flops or something would come with the beachcomer outfit...

That's a good point! I wouldn't be interested just for the shorts, but for some flip flops.... Perhaps someone who already has the outfit can tell us?

the beachcomber comes with the option to go bare foot, at least on females. Hell, on my fed joined trill fem it even gives her the option to use BORG(!) feet. Actually, the borg feet look sort of like miniature scuba diving flippers. It also gives the trill fems the option of removing their leg spots. Likely unintentional but I love it!

Problem is with the shorts on fems. They look daft with almost everything and worse, they clip horribly with everything. Even worse is that what they do look sort of okayish with does not belong on a beach. Tbh, I was expecting a t-shirt or something to go with it, or at least to be able to have the fem orion use her bikini with it..
But no, being an off duty costume piece it's alone..

That's awesome! Do you by any chance know if you can go barefoot if you mix and match off duty clothes, and choose something other than the shorts?

I don't know, but knowing how cryptic loves to arbitrarily bar items from working together, I wouldn't be surprised it we couldn't.

Be warned, the feet are rather blocky. Not horrible, but nowhere near as good as the faces.

I wasn't expecting wonders judging from the orion female sandals.
But still, it would be nice.

Thank you very much for the information!

Np. but seriously, the shorts are TRIBBLE poor compared to the npc swimsuits. I like the shorts, sure, but they just don't go well with anything available in the off duty section as well as the same sort of clipping problems that many of the new costume parts released lately have had.

Yeah, I wasn't really going to bother with them. But if they give you the option to ditch your shoes, then it might be worth looking at for me.
As I mentioned earlier, I made quite a nice little beach outfit with a combination of TOS and mirror TOS parts. Losing the shoes would make it complete. :D

Ugh, just realised. They're uniform parts and of course barefoot will be off duty...
That's put a spanner in the works.

    see what I mean? :(
The shorts might look allright with an orion fems bikini if the colours were wisely chosen.

Yeah my Orion "Uniform" is bare chest, no such option in Off Duty. Must be a psychological thing, only strip on the job. :o

Seriously. Just carry over the sandals from the Orions. I got one of the new outfits only to find out the only options for footwear ere various forms of boots. Seriously, who takes knee high boots to the beech with them? Some more options would be great.

Do males not have an option for shorts or bare feet? I only have an option for pants, and even with that, then the bottom of my legs disappear. Dear God, Cryptic, this is such a pathetic EPIC fail!

They had better, considering all the npcs walking around without shoes.
