OS Compatibility Question

According to this it runs on Windows 2000:

(I know that it is old, and the game is now F2P)

Has anyone tried it on Win 2000? :)

It's not recommended to be running Windows 2000 as it is currently unsupported by Microsoft which makes you a prime target for hacking.

It runs on XP but technology has moved on, so it might not be compatible with 2k with the latest patches.

    Ok.
I think there are still anti-virus software for Win 2000.
Good to know that it has a chance of working. :)
Would it be possible to run it like you do in Linux (should the launcher become annoying), by bypassing the launcher?

I can't imagine a PC still running 2K being even remotely capable of running any modern games even at lowest settings, unless you for some illogical reason have modern hardware but a dinosaur ancient OS paired with it.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. So, if, from a hardware standpoint, there was enough power, STO would probably run in Windows 2000? :)

The game client may run it, but I'd be curious about the launcher, or the autoupdater, those might be another beast altogether.

Graphics drivers may be tricky too.

Sounds like the making of a Youtube series oriented on getting it to work!
