First the devs did a good job so far with this story of the Romulan republic, though I would prefer to play the star empire, it felt like a genuine Romulan Star trek story. The art work and on the Romulan content also seems vary good.
Now for the bad devs you guys need to get your priority straight. I got to my rank up quest to centurion and I could not get it to move forward. So I recreated my character, and I was able to find the bug. I had to click the npc multiple times for the quest to register moving forward. Had I not been a experienced mmo player, or a star trek fan, I more then likely would have quit sto for good. Bugs like that need to be squashed on the spot, not wait for the next patch, otherwise this game will never attract new players. Missions like have to be bug free. Those are the kind of bugs that can kill an mmo. On a minor bug note for some reason when I change the colors of gloves for some of my romulan officers uniforms it also changes the color of the undershirt. Small minor bug I can live with but at some point it would be a good idea to take care of that.
Lastly time for an opinion. Devs I know you work hard but you need to decide what you want to do with this game as far as ship balance. Upon my return I found out tacts got nerfed again. With removing going down fighting until we are at 50 percent hull strength. Anyone who has played elite stfs in a escort or bop has got to find that amusing. It was bad enough our speed was reduced, note the words speed not turn rate, when it came to things like attack pattern omega. Now this? In my opinion it would be allot better if you buffed up tacticals, made dual beams have the same damage as dual cannons. Let beam array have the same damage as single cannons. There by ending the problem once and for all.
This of course would leave tactical players with escorts, or bops easy targets in their current state. You would have to seriously buff up the tatctical players to balance out such a move. The question becomes why bother? Its simple beam boat takes forever to destroy things compared to cannons. If you give beams the same damage, except for the dual heavy cannons. It makes cruisers more usefull. Also its no secret Federation cruisers do not have much to offer without their consoles Now please spare me the debate of numbers I did this blah blah blah blah. For the most part as a general rule cruisers on the fed side are tanks with some damage. From where I am sitting is probably the reason why tacts got hit with the nerf bat again. Also from my point of view if your going to put massive ships like the scimatar in the game with the ability to move fast, by means of a special console, then you might want to take a look at this issue.
