Just wondering. Is there a way to customize the look of the Omega ground set? I just got all three pieces for the Omega Force Ground set and immediately went to see the Tailor. However, there was no option to customize it even though on STOWiki, it says you can.
There is another omega rep project you have to do...costume unlock - omega style 1. this will give you the omega costume that you can modify
I'd like to add to OSD's post: There will be different costume unlocks for styles 1-3 depending on which Mark version of the set you got, and if you get all three Marks X, XI, and XII sets, you can run all three projects.
Each adds slightly different/more costume pieces/accessories. I believe you have to get the Mk XII set to get access to the helmet and other "Harvester" pieces, for instance. And this last one has the most, and my opinion, coolest parts. So if you've already got Mk XII, there isn't much reason to spend the resources and go back to get the Mk X or XI (unless you're an accolade hunter, completist, etc.).
Note also, that once you complete the costume unlock project, when you go into the tailor, you'll need to change to the Omega Force "slot-type", in the upper right corner of the advanced screen is a drop-down that lets you select this. You'll find the helmet under head type on page one of the advance screens (assuming you've unlocked it), and the rest of the costume bits on the normal uniform setup screen.
There is a similar deal for the MACO and KHG uniforms: Multiple costume unlocks projects depending on Marks, specific "slot-type", but there is also a 4th project if you complete certain accolades (M.A.C.O. Elite Commando, for instance). Sadly, since the RoL expansion, the KHG armor is bugged for some people.

Okay. I managed to complete the Costume unlock and started fiddling with the Tailor options.
Selected the Omega Force and tried to remove the helmet. Unfortunately, that did not work. Under the Head section, I selected Humanoid under Category and the helmet did not disappear.
After purchasing the changes, I went back to the Tailor and saw the the helmet was off in the large preview but yet the helmet is still on my actual character.
For your information, it is for my Orion character.

Congrats, again! Personally, I too make two copies of my STF Armors (or more if I have access to the different versions), one with Helmet, one without.
I haven't had any problems doing that and going sans headwear in the past, but it's possible LoR introduce such a bug.
...Hmm... Is it possible you're wearing your armor and you have "Enable Visuals" activated? Then you're going to see the armor (with helmet) no matter which costume (even if it's an STF Armor) you're wearing. Try disabling the visuals on your armor.

UPDATE: Yup. That did it. Selecting "Disable Visuals" in the Character Status screen hid the helmet but still displays the Omega Force pieces that I set at the Tailor.
