Proud owner of a Scourge Destroyer Retrofit now to... Hey what the?!

So I just got myself a Scourge Destroyer Retrofit went to the shipwright to give it a nice paint job etc, but it's telling me I have to buy the Scourge Destroyer for zen before I can do anything to it, is that working as intended? Because if it is... It kinda sucks, no other fleet ships I've bought have required me to own the zen version to change the look of it, unless it was a unique piece (like nacelles etc), this doesn't have any, just a pattern, material, windows, paint colours, bridge and layout....

    That's a glitch/bug with the ship tailor. Best thing to do would be to hold off on the changes until they get around to fixing it, I think.

    Thanks for the info, I thought it might be that but thought I'd make sure.

    It's definitely not working as intended. It's a long lasting bug that appeared in the KDF ship roster.
    BranFlakes has acknowledged this as a bug in another thread regarding the same issue. Here's a link to his post.

    Yeah....ummm.

    Its been broken since Season 6. S6 I think, whichever one introduced the starbase and fleets. Its been broken for around a year and its never been fixed. Fleet & retro versions of the Corsair have the same problem.

    The Corsair too?! Oh man I was actually thinking of getting that too....

    Yeah the Corsair has it, a great ship I love it, never liked the Marauder. It's worth getting but I can't paint the thing so not a happy customer. Might be better to hold off till they fix the darn thing, but it's still a good ship. The Lt Commander science slot is golden. :D

    Don't know if it's linked but it's the Scourge I noticed it on... I have no viewscreen on the default bridge.

    There are lots of bugs like that in the game (marauder boff, embassy costume) that have been that way for sometimes years.
    They are not hard fixes whatsoever but they impact kdf gameplay.
    Meaning it may be a few more years until we get a fix.
    I may have 40 bug tickets that haven't been looked at on these issues.
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    Ended up getting the Fleet Corsair despite it having this bug, great ship as stated but yeah it's a shame as the only two KDF ship I use at the moment are non customizable unless I spend 1500zen on each ship which I don't really want to do as the consoles from the zen versions will never get used and I don't see the point in paying 1500 for paint!
