The Reman set is now available through the Romulan reputation system.

Basically, if you are level 50, go to New Romulus, in the Tau Dewa sector, and do missions there to to acquire Romluan Rep marks.

Then you follow the reputation path.

You can buy the components form the rep store after doing projects.

Since you are returning player, may I suggest looking at stowiki.org, they have a pretty good explanation of the rep system and what you can do and get with it.

    Enjoy!

The rest of the Reman set (as well as higher versions of the shield) is located in the New Romulus reputation system.

Be aware, the reman deflector is the most specific purpose deflector you can find in a set. It does two things very well. Buff cloak or mask energy signature, and buff disable effects such as those belonging to photonic shockwave, viral matrix or beam targeting skills. Apart from that it does nothing other then enable the 2nd set bonus.

Sadly disabling abilities are currently underwhelming. Outside of PVP they really provide no benefit to your team that wouldn't be outweighed simply by bringing some more DPS instead. Similarly cloaking has little pve use.

This set is intended primarily for very specific science ship builds in PVP. If you don't PVP you may wish to invest your dilithium in something else first.

Cloaking bonuses are fairly useless in PvP anyway. At least outside of the decloak bonuses. However, you are correct in what you say.

I was excited when they put this set in, but in all honesty it's "meh" unless you are running into very specific situations which rarely occur and it's an underwhelming set vs. Maco/Borg/Aegis, etc.

I really wish they would change some of these sets around so you'd see more than just cookie cutter builds, with only 1 or 2 of the sets being any good, being used for everything, but it seems that only certain sets are good in this game and the rest just occupy space in your bank after you acquire them.

Actually they can be the difference between a fail fed science ship and a win one. You would be surprised at how close you can get to some one whilst using level 1 mask energy signature, a decent auxiliary power level and the reman deflector.
