Engie/Sci Revamp?

Right, over the last few months I have seen thread after thread pop up about engineers this, science that, cruisers suck, sci ships are lame, and so on. Personally, I like both, and feel with the proper knowledge about either, the ins and outs, what they are made for and how to work along those lines, they could be made to be fun. However, a lot of people seem to think along the lines of escorts, where more firepower equals more fun, and because cruisers and sci ships cannot be made along the lines of an escort (though I think that with the right equipment and skills, you can meet at a certain point) that they suck. Hence, the multiple threads bemoaning this.

So, in light of this, my question is, what would/could/should be changed to make cruisers/sci ships more 'user friendly?' What ship design, character skills, and/or boff powers could or should be adjusted to accommodate this?

    Change Science skill resists so fully spec'd level 3 Sci abilities can't be shrugged off like they didn't exist.

    And give Engineers a reason to exist. Right now, my Tac/Mogai can do literally everything an Engineer can do and far more.

    - RSF? Got that with Fleet Shields and the (admittedly horribly broken) Valdore console
    - EPS? Got that with Leech and a decent Core
    - Nadion? Got that with Marion.
    - Miracle Worker? Got that with the inherent Singularity Core abilities.

    they do need to redo some engineer main abilities or atleast allow them to be shared to other players,or they could bring escorts in line with the rest of us?

    the issue right now is that escorts survive a bit too well in some cases as well or better then a cruiser and they do not suffer enough loss of dps to do this but when trying to get sci/engis to do (keep in mind all this game is realy about is dps) the best damage they can they have to through survivabilty out the airlock.

    while escorts should do more damage it should be from the tact officers inside all 3 ship types should be roughly the same without abilitie use from the captain but maybe im asking for too much balance.

    The borg 2 piece... is pure OP and completely nullifies Nadion. My tac has perma Nadion with omega amp.

    Marion's best asset comes from the fact that is guaranteed when you want it. You're right in that Omega Amp is basically permanent Nadion, but it is still a proc in the end. Marion's a guarantee.

    Let's not forget for Romulan players the two-piece bonus off the Mogai console set gives a similar bonus, if for a lesser amount.
    I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
