Sub BOFFs stacking again, eh?

Per the March 13th notes: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=583151

Sub BOFFs were no longer intended to stack +Stealth. It was part of the changes that took place in going from a % to a fixed value as well as adding the +Def (that could stack).

However, if you look at your Starship Stealth Skill as well as your Stealth Value, it's clear that the Sub BOFFs are stacking once again...thus giving folks using them better Stealth than they should have. Course, this probably got lost in all the EPtA stuff...

I thought they had been stacking for awhile again anyways?
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

There were no patch notes saying they had reverted the change and a quick check of Gameplay Bugs doesn't show anybody reporting it prior to LoR.

Hmm, could've been a rumor or a bit of mistaken info on my end that I heard, who knows.

I think you are confusing Romulan BOFFs with some other issue.

Entirely possible that it got broken earlier than the LoR patch...

    Sub BOFFs != Sub/SNB DOFFs. :)

Should have been clear in my OP, even if the BOFFs part was mistaken for DOFFs in the title.

Maybe so. Can't always remember when I heard something, if I even heard it right, etc.

Just seems like I was able to get a surprising amount of stealth on my Bortasqu' even before LoR.

If you bought rare/very rare romulan boffs from before LoR they had +200 stealth

I know. But what Virus is getting at is that before the Stealth bonus would only apply once, meaning you could never get anything except 200 points to your Stealth skill, now it can stack.

Also, I realized my confusion. I was thinking about Romulan Operative BOFFs, and how those went through some bugginess in terms of stacking in LoR.

Rommie boffs from the embassy do stack. Always have. or a least they did.

    This was April 4th: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=607321
    • Updated Bridge Officers with Subterfuge:
      • Resolved an issue where having multiple Bridge Officers with Subterfuge, Basic Subterfuge, or Superior Subterfuge was stacking improperly.
      • Using a Bridge Officer with Subterfuge on a ship using Enhanced Battle Cloak will no longer result in the ship no longer decloaking while it fires.
      • Resolved an issue in the description of the Bridge Officer Subterfuge traits that was causing them to display an inaccurate tooltip in stores.

    This was March 13th: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=8574281
    • Space Stealth and Cloaking Updates:
      • The Subterfuge Trait no longer provides a percentage-based increase, but instead provides a large increase to the "Starship Stealth" skill of their captain.
        • +100 / +150 / +200 for ranks 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
      • All ranks of the Subterfuge Trait have gained a Defense bonus.
        • +1.25% / +2.5% / +3.75% for ranks 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
      • The Stealth Bonus and Ambush Bonus from having multiple Bridge Officers with Subterfuge does not stack, but the Defense bonus will.

Those are Holo notes. LoR released May 21st.

Well I think the bottom line is that Romulan ships should be undetectable.

Only the tach detection grid could detect the romulan ships in TNG

and in Nemisis - the Scimitar had developed the "perfect cloak" according to Geordi - completely undetectable.

So if someone wants to be a snooper they will have to run sci and have quite a lot spec'd/equiped into detection.

ah so... only the "baddies" are able to improve their tech eh?

whats to stop you from thinking that once we discovered they have "perfect cloak" that the federation wouldnt have sunk more into trying to spot the cloak via other means?

Frankly, I think the only sound advice that one can give new players at this time is to stay away from PVP in STO.
