I think its about time that we all accepted that this game is never going to be canon or an accurate depiction of Starships in the 25th Century. When 120 year old ships, like the Excelsior can outgun a Galaxy Class or the "new" Odyssey class, its verging on ridiculous.
So CBS can drop with the stupid excuses and so can Cryptic. Tier V Constitution and NX Class please because your game is so laughably not Star Trek, but a generic space game that happens to be set in the Star Trek universe, why can we not have even older ships running around at top level.
Its what people want, so who cares anymore. Lets get these classic ships in the game and usable at Fleet level.

That's what people need to come to grips with. Not CBS.
As for this game not being "Star Trek" as you put it is another story. The game was never hard canon. Anyone who thought that was out of touch with reality and thought too high on themselves thinking their creation in this game meant the character truly existed in canon.
Lifetime no longer gives a forum title. That should be updated on the Lifetime page that mentions what you get. PMing the CSR doesn't work neither.
No no... I mean full-scale Science ship... Dual deflector and all.
Please keep debating to a minimum in this topic, opinions are everywhere and such and I do not want a flame war, just keep your suggestions for Cryptic's ship classes and vessels you'd like to see coming in. Remember, nothing is too ridiculous for Cryptic, we have an Andorian vessel from 200 years ago as a chief escort! With that logic, why can't the NX be a Tier 5 ship?
Ours is not to question why... ours to provide even more stuff to make this game even more irrelevant. Just a bit of fun. :P

What's wrong with that? Its not a big stretch from the Cruisers we have now in turn rate and weaponry... besides what about just letting players fly "V'Ger" as the new Lockbox ship in the next terrible box.
The excuse does not work anymore, especially when you have an Andorian Escort from 200 years ago being a common ship in the game. From the same era.
Now with the Tal Shiar "Narada rip-offs", the game is just becoming more and more ridiculous day by day.
How about a T5 Whaler (the boat that was about to harpoon the whales)? Oh wait. The harpoon might make it have to wait for T6.

You know, you have to love it when you can vapourise other ships in PvP without them even firing a shot and be so large that you have a freaking nebula around you. All with original cheesy 70's special effects

In a progressive universe you move on and improve not stand still. I mean you don't see the RAF still using spitfires because its said to be one of the greatest fighters of all time. They didn't decide not to progress further just put modern computers and weaponry on it. No they invented new tech, new styles of plans totally different to the spitfire.
No Trekkie has the right to claim this game as a full canon game, nor ppl that dont believe in canon can demand all ships available to them.
But as I said, its a game, and make the players happen. Who cares about canon. Geez. U cant take everything that serious in life XD
I would like my Science captain to have level 9 spells at max level : wish, time stop.
I want a new combination carrier/intergalactic (between galaxies) colony ship.
It will be circular with 20 Imperial Star Destroyer II docking wedge slots at the equatorial line. Each Star Destroyer will have 6 squadrons of hanger space. We can put a tesla coil 20 kilometers high on the two magnetic poles for Cryptic style ship effects.
This ship, requiring the combined industrial output of at least 100 Federation worlds, will of course not be able to process mail, it will explode after losing any of 8 shield facings, and only be usable by liberated borg captains who open at least 950 lock boxes to get the secret "exhaust port hatch cover" upgrade.
Give it that mounted gattling gun from the movie and make it a T1 ship / shuttle.
Cryptic won't want to write that check though because there is no way a T5 Connie will lose Cryptic income. But I already hear you objecting, "It would be the best selling T5 ship of all time!" Maybe so. "Hell," you go on to say, "If I could get a T5 Connie I would play that baby all the time!" and that's my point exactly. You wouldn't pay for another ship after you scored a T5 Connie. You'd have a T5 Connie, if you hadn't already you'd buy some TOS Uniforms, a Bridge pack, and then you'd have your perfect ship. The Tellarite Cruiser? Not going to end up in your shipdock, not so long as you have the perfect ship. The new Enterprise? Snooze fest, how can you get excited about some "new" Enterprise when you have the "perfect" Enterprise?
And that's not even counting all of the rage we'd get from people who really should have ran out of rage to have now about "out of date" ships flying around at end game.
So was R2-D2. I wonder if we can get him as a combat pet? :P
