If Cryptic is going to continually increase the difficulty of elite STFs, then they need to create an intermediate-level "advanced STF" that's equivalent to season 6 elite STFs. The normal STFs are too easy at level 50, with paltry rewards, and the elite STFs are getting to the point where they are too hard and the rewards aren't worth it. I know Cryptic wants something to challenge those players who have bought all the most expensive equipment, but making elites impossible for those who have exceptionally good, non-C-store items to pug elites detracts from the enjoyability of the game.
If you make the normals harder, then the players who are just arriving at STFs won't be able to complete them and will get frustrated. Which is why I propose an Advanced STF level of difficulty: more reward and more difficulty than normal, but not as nigh-on-impossible as the elites.

Only recent change that is annoying is the turbo boost for borg spheres.
Killing them is easy, but playing tag is annoying.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

for casual gamers elite is just getting too hard, i know a couple ppl that have quit STO cause they keep increasing the difficulty and it just seems u cant get ahead
i have felt the increase too, my setup doesnt do as good in STFs as it used too
like getting 1 hit by torpedoes through full hull and shields, that didnt happen to me back before the rep system was changed

It's not the rarity of the equipment which matters, but how you use it. Elite STFs are already a snorefest for the majority whom frequents channels such as PublicEliteSTF. It gets easier with better equipment sure, but you can be competitive as a fresh lvl 50, provided you don't double as a comatose patient on a daytime soap.
the only thing that makes an stf difficult is the people you go with. when you get tac captains flying rainbow beam boat oddys and/or the afk tards and/or the troll that goes off to ruin optional objectives and/or the people that just don't have a clue what they're supposed to be doing. The mechanics of the stf's themselves are easy enough to complete.

also forgot, factor in the lolcryptic bugs for unintentional added difficulty which can't be fixed by players.

Like Hive Onslaught's Lance attack somehow possessing infinite range and hitting you at 90 degree angles when you're within 3km of the Queen/Respawn point?
I haven't noticed any change in difficulty with the elite STFs. (aside from the sphere zooming all over the place). Pretty much still finish them in the same amount of time as before.
