well with a company that is feverishly passionate about pvp, wouldn't it be interesting to see some data about pvp numbers?

for all we know lolspace could be the most successful pvp has ever been in sto.

You can't call it dead now with so many people leveling right now... and many more working hard on rep that they have zero of. ;)

Honestly I did around an hour the other night of solid PvP... and it was the most fun I have had in a long time.

Sure leach and everyone including carrier drivers where zooming around... and you know what people where a bit easier to kill but not easy to kill. The matches I was in where ALL fun.

Honestly as much as I find it crazy that we can all have insanely high power ect... I don't know at least on the pug level things seem to have a sort of equalibrum.

Come back in a month and vote again. lol

My apoligies for any offense. I was merely having a dark humor moment but to your challenge I say it would not satisfy you as I do not bring my ego into combat with me.

"Everything is working as intended" as always! XD

The chance to use it is available for anyone, like consoles, lock box ships etc. If you do not use that is your personal stuff, if the other person or team uses them, that is their stuff. Except for tournaments where are rules obviously.

Of course, if we could create a regulation of PvP in STO, I guess, we would do, however if we do create such a thing, there is no guarantee to observe it. It depends on the PvP community's negotiation. And as you can see, most of them do love winning with two clicking.

But if the Cryptic had not done such a thing because of the profit, like as these consoles (Plasmaonic Leech, etc...) then there would have been more willing to play with PvP. But this is their problem.

Nevertheless the PvP Boot Camp's task now to keep somehow PvP alive. And it is sad, because it would not be the task of community, but the task of the developers.

    See you in queues!

    This^

I think with all the new stuff the whole defination of PvP simply changed, that goes for both pugs and premade fights.

I've hardly done any PvP as of yet because *ehum* i love PvE ground!

I think especially premade fights will get really interesting and there is no way to know how it will end up, only time will tell. As for the new consoles, i havent checked em all out yet either but some of them sound pretty OP. Then again the only thing U have to do is open your pocket and u get them :D

I came to the conclusion that Romulan toons are superior to anything else now (Except for a few exceptions like a highly specific build which is only doable on a specific ship like the BoP KDF side, its all dead.

Go Rommy or be deprecated is what my conclusion is. Hence I'm leveling up a few new rommy toons with the rep, very boring but oh well.

LOL pvp is no more dead than it ever was in sto.

However, the days of your cookie cutter escort tac captains domination are over.

Sorry your apo3 'n 3 zemoks don't help as much as they used to.
Sorry your crf2x2 cannon spam isn't as effective as it once was.
Sorry your little glass cannon cant go toe to toe with a tac cube 'n trade punches anymore.

My galor is stronger than ever, with room yet for improvement.
People actually refuse to fight the recluse,
cry spam all you want but when you only survive the first 10 seconds, well, sorry.

I fly an orb weaver my friend helped me to build that causes little bug ships to run away 'n hide 'n beam overload SPAMMING birds of prey tend to one shot themselves.

U know what beats me though? not an escort, another cruiser. or a well put together science officer.

Sorry but the barbarian class in sto may be dead, it was only ever for beginners anyway.
'n they're not dead, they're just not the stand alone be all end all for pvp.

    Sorry i'm not sorry :)
    Its about time really.

besides, there are ample counters to all the holds and disables out there.
If they don't fit into your 10k dps build tough shi*.
That's what happens when u run a 10k dps build.

Every new season and every new lockbox results in in these "OMG PVP is doomed" threads.

They need to give PVP an almighty balance check to bring the cheese and broken aspects of the game back into sync. There needs to be a rep system to force Kirks into the queues, new maps and gametypes to give people things to do, and a fix to stop said incoming Kirks from AFKing in games.

Until then, PVP will continue to circle the drain.

It's dead to me, and it's the only reason I started playing STO. Weirdly tho I still play, just for the co-op PvE (STF's).
Balance is so messed up in PvP because the game is balanced for PvE against unbelievably predictable and stupid AI.

For me to have a bad experience in PvP would depend on wether the spam in question is obviuosly known to be broken or just standard somewhat balanced spam.
I can deal with the latter but the former is annoying.

Real question is, was STO pvp ever alive?

Yes, it was. The issue lies in that in the begining it was simplier to play PvP as the learning curve was shallow (think WWI biplanes) and as the game has grown its literally become mega-hitech spaceships flinging power around with little consequences.

Well so far on my KDF-allied Romulans (4 atm), pvp wrapper missions are not unlocking so by the time I got to VA only 3 missions were available.

    Claiming Enemy Emergency reserves
Dominate the leaders of the enemy
    Raze enemy secret headquarters

But no captain killer, turret killer, etc. don't know if its related to not being able to open c-store bajoran doff packs issue until lvl 30. (sleath nerf to dilith collection, bad coding, and oversight or a combination of all 3?)

Atm it just seems more fun to pve then worry about gearing up to be competitive in pvp arenas vs someone with T5 omega/romulan rep with all purple mk xii gear on their fleet defiant, although I am enjoying the fleet Mogai atm :D

    Happy flying
