Roms can't join pve

I, as a rom fed, can't join most pve missions. It says "You are no longer on a team" or something like that, and I therefore can't join the stf because it warps me out automatically. Others have had this problem because I see them warping out as well.

Seems to be a big problem that needs fixing.

I'm not sure that's a Romulan-specific issue; my Vulcan has only been able to get into the Elite Crystalline Catastrophe mission twice (and wow, talk about OP; that thing is unbeatable, and both times, I eventually found myself alone in the mission against the thing, as everyone else abandoned the attempt).
