Solution for Eyestrain in new UI

I might have a solution which I think is possible with the new UI, observing on how the Windows can be transparent, red alert can kick in with some fading effects there, the engine/UI can support the things I and alot of others would like to see implemented;

- What about an option so we can alter the Hue/saturation of the UI
- Give us an option to replace the Tray icons with the old ones (The Blue/Red -non color coded ones)
- Give us an option to also adjust the reticle/player name colors because that aweful bright orange/red just pains my eyes.

Sounds like a great solution for the ridiculously contrast/colored UI we have now.

Look I get that we cannot get the old UI back (Which I think can even be done without too much problems but oh well devs said it couldnt be done so w.e.)

But at least give is some customizability.
The current UI is just way too much in the foreground and the game should be about the game, not the UI. Its more of a distraction now then anything.

I think most vet players will agree with me on this one.

    The entire UI was redone for several reasons. The biggest reason was because it was a resource hog of epic proportions. When the devs say they can't bring back the old ui as an option they're not kidding. The only thing they could do is "recreate" most of it as a color scheme option.

    I actually don't mind the new UI, actually I really like it. I haven't messed around with it on the Fed or KDF side so far, but on the Romulan side really the only bright/annoying part is the white shield and hull indicators. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to "tetris" all the lower HUD parts together so it doesn't take up so much of the screen.

    between the game and your computer monitor/tv not sure why you're having an issue with it being too bright as it's very easy to tune it down some.

    The new UI just has too many colors that makes it hard to find important systems. And I tried telling that to Thomas the Cat during Beta.

    The Old UI would've benefited from the color tray icons, because the old UI was mainly one color and it was easier to focus on color icons.

    The New UI has so many color variation that it's hard to single out the new color UI icons. So the tray icons would benefit from being more singular color.

    Also some of the black backgrounds like with the Player Team info, doesn't make the Health Jump out like the old one did. Several times I have to stop to look at my HPs to see where I'm at, because I lose it so easily.

    So for me, the old UI benefits me more than the new one.
