Tailor Shop

One used to be able to do a lot in the old tailor shop, change your color pattern, tweak a shirt color, see how your characters look in that fancy Admiral's tunic, or Wrath of Khan uniform, and it was all quite logical and easy. The new tailor shop is quite confounding and intimidating, and only a very limited number of uniform options are shown to me now.
His methods have become unsound.

You're only looking at the presets. Click the Advanced button for either Head, Body, or Uniform, to get the options you're familiar with.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

They have the choices categorized now (sort of), so there are still plenty of choices if you pick the right categories. That said there is a lot about the new tailor/character creator that I simply despise. Character lighting is a bit too dark or with oddly colored lighting making color choices more difficult, the little portraits around your character are annoying as hell, they make it way too easy to fudge up your customizations and this leads right into the next problem, there is no undo button, so you better hope you saved your character's choices or you have to do it over from scratch.
There is such a thing as dumbing things down and simplifying them too much, that seems to be what happened here, yet the attempt to simplify things has instead complicated things unnecessarily. The old character creator/tailor was something that really didn't need to be fixed. I'm not saying to throw the baby out with the bath water but there are certainly features of the old system that is still very much required yet here are missing and new features we would be better off without.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
    Oh Hell NO to ARC
